I haven't checked tonight but earlier today Intellicast was saying 96 high for Saturday but "only" 92 on Sunday. In my book 92 isn't too bad...just bring extra water.

Sunday: 97 (weather.com), 96 (accuweather). Intellicast is now 93 for Sunday, 92 for Sat. It's just hot. Once you're over 90 it really doesn't matter.

Firebirds indeed.
thanks,

a real big thanks to everyone that made it out this weekend.   the advanced field was massive, possibly one of the largest in the country outside of bowling green.  having 220+ players over the weekend with a 100 degree heat index just blows me away!  huge thanks to discontinuum and the brasscash crew for putting in the leg work to make these events possible.

i gotta go now and wash the stank off before i call it a day.

once again, thanks again to all the players and volunteers - its a treat to be a part of this and see folks from all over the midwest enjoy it.  looking forwad to next year!

wow, that was a huge event!  very fun time on some nice courses.  glad to see so many club members out there representing.

nice shooting Rock Pebbles, coming from way back with a hot 2nd round to win Intermediate today.  also congrats to brett for shooting well and picking up Tag #1, which i will be collecting shortly   8)

tourney couldn't have been much smoother, we got out of there at a pretty good time both days considering the number of people.  can't wait for IOS 5 @Streamwood in only 2 weeks, where the Ace will be worth $1000!!!

Mea culpa:  I made a small mistake with the Men's Rec division which resulted in us paying out third place twice in order to make up for the mistake.  The people who tied for last brass in Men's Rec are owed two more brass each.  We pay out so much more than we have to, you all ought to just say, "Hey, no problem," but if you want your two brass, I'll make it good at Streamwood.

Thanks to the Brakels, Brett, Adrian Jr. & Sr., Michler, Mike K., Damon, and everyone else that helped out!

Lot of fun despite my score, but I got a CTP! Was on my first hole & first throw, all downhill after that.

See you all in 2 weeks!

Mike Clark

Another great tournament. What an incredible turnout! Wish I could have stuck around for Sunday. Thanks for the fun.

I really like that at our tournaments you can lose the playoff for first resulting in finishing DFL in your two-girl division, but win the CTPs and go home a winner!

I won 1/2 a CTP!  Ron and I were both about 75 feet out.  He paced it and could not say, so we split it.

Hey guys, Ben and I had another great time at one of your tourneys.  The weather blew, but that's not your fault.  I just need to get over the mental thing of  thinking I can't play in the heat, and I need to stop leaving my upshots short.   Bad, Marie!  >:(

But, on a more positive note, I won an all-division CTP on a +300 foot hole.  What's up with that guys?  You let a skinny girl beat you on a hole you should be able to park??!!   ;D

Anyhow, I had fun and look forward to #5.

I have some pictures from the Safari Holes that I'd like to put up...can an album be made or should I post them here?

I've decided I'll just post here. I'll do my best with the downsizing.

Sorry about slow scores.  Jon and Becky do a lot of that during the tournament but were not able to this time.

Becky stayed inside in the AC today and input all the day of registration and the scores. As soon as I get home I'll upload them. I'll also teach Becky how to do the upload thing so next time she can just get 'r done!

I actually forgot my computer this weekend which is why the scores weren't up. This actually turned into a blessing in disguise because I realized that the pressure to get the scores up the as soon as possible was stressing me out and I didn't get so stressed out this weekend. So, in the future I'm going to bring the laptop, but let have the tournament come first--then get the scores up when time permits.

I think we've gotten a bit spoiled with getting the results up almost immediately after a given round! Given the size of the field on Sat and the ridiculous weather we've been having, there's certainly no reason to apologize. They'll still be up light years ahead of most tournaments anyhow.

I was happy to help out and not play on Sat - just as well given my back situation which magically disappeared on Sunday - and was again impressed with the entire operation. It's certainly a task I'd never take on on a regular basis and I salute youse guys.

Speaking of Sunday, just for the record: apparently my card in the morning was realllly late getting in - although I thought there was still one more after us. It was logical to assume that it was the old fart holding things up, but I actually had a pretty good round and it was the *other* guys that were making a few holes slow. 2nd round, well, that was a bit different, and I apologized to my group, but since Rocky was on my card and he jumped from 10th to 1st, he, at least, wasn't complaining.  ;)

I completely hated playing in the rain in Rockford last year, but I wouldn't have minded it yesterday.
thanks,
Damon

Great job!! Except that Mike Robinson's PDGA # (pro) must be incorrect; links to somebody else and he's certainly not rated 774.

And I wanted my 2nd round to be rated over 900. Please take care of that, I've suffered enough.
thanks,

There was one more advanced master.  His first name was Perry, I don't recall his last name but I believe he was from northern Wisconsin.  He played the first round and about 7 holes of the second round.  He then dropped out due to the excessive heat.
