Results are up. Thanks to Becky for inputting scores and names and pdga numbers. Please help out and check for mistakes. http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5687&year=2006&includeRatings=1#Open

There was one more advanced master. His first name was Perry, I don't recall his last name but I believe he was from northern Wisconsin.

Perry Adams. I met him last yr and I think he's from WI but much closer to Rockford.

Mea culpa:  I made a small mistake with the Men's Rec division which resulted in us paying out third place twice in order to make up for the mistake.  The people who tied for last brass in Men's Rec are owed two more brass each.  We pay out so much more than we have to, you all ought to just say, "Hey, no problem," but if you want your two brass, I'll make it good at Streamwood.

I think my brother (Keith) would appreciate the extra $2.  Maybe it will help him forget more about the $10 coin he lost at Crystal Lake  :P  If he can't make it to Streamwood or something I'll probably need to pick it up for him.

When PDGA.com is up and running, I'll post a list of the players who were shorted by that confusion.

It should be Kelsey, Keith Pitner, Josh Younkin, and Colin Crockett

Correct.  Kelsey got hers.  The other three were gone by the time I realized how the whole shuffle changed everything.  Now i'm not even certain whether they should have got more or less.  I'm taking back anything I said about 2 brass until I talk to Jon and get the payouts and the trophy-only players.

What happened was one of the 135s got added wrong as a 145.  No one caught it until we got up to paying out third place, the 135s.  Heat stroke!  So I made it up to the 135 guy, but that changes the number tied for last brass and how many spots they were tied for.  It changed from a five-way tie for the last three spots to a four-way tie for the last two spots.  I think when I thought I owed them 2 brass each, I was thinking it was changed to a four-way tie for the last three spots.  But pulling the one guy out and bumping the rest down would make it a four-way tie for two spots.

Probably everyone who was paid for 4th - 15th owes me 3 brass, since they really finished 5th - 15th.  Keep it.  I'll take it out of the brass that gets lost.

Anyway, here's some interesting unofficial stats:

Here is what everyone wants to know:  How does par rate for each pool on each course?

PoolOldNewPar Avg
Sat. Pro, etc.962942952
Sat. Adv947944945.5
Sun. Int949938943.5
Sun. Rec Jr.954922938
So pros DO get higher ratings!  Some of that is the conditions.  The old course has less shade in the fairway [where pros tend to throw] and was played in the heat strokey second round by the pros.  I'm just glad to have the 6.5 additional bragging points for having played in the pro pool.

Yesterday we learned that PDGA non-members do not qualify for Am Nationals.  I'm sorry for the confusion.  I never saw that anywhere on their website.  The following players received an envelope but did not qualify:

Jason Creviston
Luke Michel
Robert Thompson
John McGeachy

Not qualifying those players bumps invitations down to the 128s.  The following players qualified but did not receive envelopes:

26  Rocky Pebbles
26  David O'Keefe
26  Steve Slater
26  Travis Brown
26  Jason Rose
26  Nathan Walser
26  Randy Bruemmer

If you e-mail office@amnationals, they will send you an invitation.

Bruce,
I'm not sure if you turned in names or not. Luke said he would have joined if he had to. I'll see him tonight. Can he still join & get in?

Tell him to talk to office@amnationals.com.  Todd is a reasonable human being.  I think if Luke tells Todd he would have joined if he had known it was a requirement, Todd might let him in.  Sorry for the screw up.  I've gone back to their website and cannot find anywhere that you have to be a member whan you qualify.  I had never heard that before.

....http://www.amnationals.com/Qualification/qualifiers.htm

...says "3 ways to qualify for *current* PDGA Amateurs...."

maybe not explicit, but a pretty strong implication...
