Anybody going?  I can't play Streamwood as I will be out of town and I am free August 5.  The stars appear to be in line for Dretzka.

Just to clarify, it is JUST ONE DAY for all divisions.  I'm selfish and bolting to Augusta, Georgia the day after the event so I'm putting everyone on 2 courses at Dretzka Park.

One course will be the normal 18 (not sure on pins or tees yet) and the other course will use the standard 8 temps that Dretzka has seen in the past and then use 10 more new holes that will make up the full 36 total holes.  Yes, you'll play 18 holes in the morning then 18 different holes in the afternoon.  I guess you could say it's like Rockford in that slight regard.

The online registration site is located here for you to check out.  http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=108

Hey guys ... just providing an update here:

We currently have 75 officially paid and registered.

I have about 15 - 20 that say they are committed and going to pay in the next day or two (mainly in person).

That means there are still spots to get in if you hurry.

This will be a fun event that will meet and exceed B-Tier standards in all divisions.  We have Tom Holsten trophies which are always a treat and we also have a chance to impress a brewery that has become a sponsor!  http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=108

Can't wait until Saturday. Anyone heading up there? Dretzka is sweet & I cannot wait to play the temp course. Only takes about an hour from Gurnee.

Registration is already at 103. 104 when you account for my check that should arrive today. This event fills at 144 players. You better register now if you plan on attending. Weather looks great for Saturday with a high of 86.

Well,

Officially over 100 right now and still growing.  There are a few people that said their checks should be arriving today plus there are more that plan to pay me at league tonight.  Illinois players have woken up a little bit and I'm seeing theirs trickle in also.

I also have a handful of others that want to track me down in person.  With gas at $3.29 / gallon I think it would just be cheaper and easier to pay the extra amount online but if people want to hunt me down, I'm fine with that too.

I am trying to get the map scanned and published online but it's very dark and tough to read.  The latest update about the course is that Mark Peterson is NOT planning to put up the baskets on Friday due to possible theft.  There are going to be 18 extra baskets floating around (many close to roads) so we don't want to have any stolen.  I had a temp basket stolen while running the FVO a few years ago and that wasn't fun.

The course however WILL BE FLAGGED by Friday.  We'll have the tees and the pins marked with flags so you can check things out.  I was hoping to host the doubles out there but it doesn't seems as if that will work.

The regular course will host the doubles and yes...it's pretty much in the exact locations you will see this weekend.  There might be 2 or 3 holes that change up before then but not too many.  Right now, I'm planning on having everyone play the SHORT/REGULAR tees for ALL divisions both rounds.

I'll catch you back here with more updates later.   ONLINE REGISTRATION is the only way to secure your spot today!

PS - The discs just arrived minutes ago and they are sweet.

Why does it cost so much for a one day tourney? Is there an option for trophy only?

lets avoid going thru this routine again so soon,

see this thread for answers to some of the questions you may have Rocky.  and there is no trophy only option for this particular event.

Go out the the course & sell 5 discs at $10 each. You should be able to get that $ in 1 day if you hang out at Fairfield long enough.

So how did the tournament go?

So how did the tournament go?

I was able to play with Cale & JD on the lead card the 2nd round. They tore it up and had a battle going into 18 where Cale birdied. Cale won over $500. I was pretty much a spectator that 2nd round.

Yes I heard it was a battle to the finish for the top 4 spots. Everything felt right the 2nd round and I played smart finally.
