Chad Eng & the Quad City Disc Golf Club got approval for a permanent course at West Lake Park, the site of April's River Cities Rumble.  This course beats anything in Peoria or Des Moines and approaches Highbridge in quality.  I would recommend watching the wires for updates and playing this course AS SOON AS IT OPENS!  They're hoping to make the Rumble an A-Tier next year.  That will be a must-attend for any midwest disc golfers.

Possibly this fall, at the very latest next year after the thaw.  The approval is there, but the final $ issues have yet to be discussed.

West Lake baskets are in!!!  From the course designer/River Cities Rumble TD, Chad Eng:

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

So everyone knows, the baskets are in at West Lake Park. And by "in," I mean they are permanently installed!

Right now, there are no tee pads or signs, but the baskets are out there and ready for play. The course is marked off with paint in preparation for the tournament this weekend.

I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Yeti (Jay Reading), who used his silver tongue to convince Harold Duvall at Innova to send us 24 Discatcher Pro baskets and defer billing to the park until after the tournament. This is not regular practice, but Yeti was doing what he could to help the tournament out and to help out disc golf in the Quad Cities.

We hope to have cement tee pads in July or August for both pro and am tees. Please get out and enjoy this course.

Check your calendars for a free weekend to come check this course out.  It is AWESOME.

Still some room left for the tournament this weekend:  7 advanced & 30+ pro.

if any of you are out there this weekend, make sure you stop by and say hello when you go to middle park (straight east just about from West Lake Park in Bettendorf).  I'll be set up at tournament central there.  I'll be out somewhere in that area friday mid-afternoon to evening if you need any last minute plastic :P

Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!

Good luck to everybody going to the QC, my long-ago hometown. Haven't lived there since long before DG.

There were frisbees back then, though. There was the wheel, at any rate. Maybe fire.

Too much going on for me to get back there this weekend.
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??
