Oh what a sad, sad day.  I lost my CFR Wraith (my baby) and a Wicked dyed Star Wraith on Sunday.  Oh, and I was stung by a bee for the first time too.

The CFR Wraith was lost on hole 9, in the water just to the left of the picnic bench around 200 feet away from the pro tee, and the Star was lost on 6 (in the creek to the left of the tee pad.  Bee careful over there because that's where I was stung and my friend was too)

If anyone finds my discs (although I doubt it) I will pay "cash money"

I LOVED my CFR Wraith and if anyone has one they would be willing to sell in the 170-172 range please PM me

Thanks

Say goodbye to the one in the lake -- it's quite deep there.  The creek, on the other hand, is shallow and gets walked regularly.  If you're lucky, you might see that one again.

I got stung three times, and lost two discs on that hole!  So, I feel for ya.

If someone can identify where that nest is, it would be good to either mark it or bomb it for the IOS.

Yeah, I was about to go in the lake when a local (Michael E) came over and told me that it drops off 50'

Don't know if there is a nest above ground.  Me and my buddy were both stung on the ankles.  It was near the creek by 6 just be careful all along the creek side

The Star Wraith I lost looked similar to this

The disc itself was neon yellow/green though and there weren't flames around it.  It was more of a spin art design.

The nest is an underground yellow jackets nest.  It's a big enough hole to see, and quite a few of them are coming in and out of it.  If you are standing within 3 feet of the nest, you will be attacked.  I believe it is about 30 to 40 feet before the fence starts on the creek side of hole 6.  It's about 6 feet inside the forrest line.

If a resident of Aurora placed a call to the Park District regarding the hive, I think they would be willing to do someting about it.
They definitely dont want people getting hurt out there especially if they are aware of the hazard. They dont want the liability either.

I just placed a call to the The Fox Valley Parks Dept.(630-897-0516) They are responsible for this park. I spoke with a supervisor named Joe Hernandez. He appreciated the report and promised to look into eliminating the hazard. I am sure that repeated calls would ensure faster response.

Nice work Mitch.  However, I am sure Bruce will still be hawking discraft products--Wasp, Buzz, Drone.  Better bring the can of raid anyway. ;D

Lost my cell phone tonight (between 6 & 7:30) at Jericho, probably on the front nine, possibly by the first tee (long).  My three year old was holding it right before we teed off and I don't remember putting it away, so I think he dropped it.  I wonder if I should have paid the $5 a month insurance . . . . .

My bro left his cell phone at Anna Page in Rockford before, and we kept calling it and calling it (trying to hear the ring at first).  At one point someone called me on it (I was the most recent caller on it),  and we had already left to go to dinner (we had no idea on what hole it was lost).  The guy found it somewhere on 12, and he was coming up on 15 at that point.  I described my brother's car (that we left in the parking lot) asking him to put it there after he finished the round.  He didn't really listen to me and told me that he could just hide it on a picnic bench near the tee for 15.  I didn't think he would actually do that, but later when we got back to the park it was NOT in the car.  So we went out to the picnic bench, and it wasn't there either.  So we start calling it a bazillion times again.  Someone picked up one of my calls, and he had also just picked up the call from my other brother.  Someone else had found the phone at the picnic table, and he had already left the park.  Thankfully he came back and returned the phone.  I can't remember your name, but if you read this, you rock!

We later found out that they had started to dial some 900 numbers (assuming it was the first group that had the phone), but they didn't punch in enough numbers when the made the call.  That's not cool and not funny whoever did that.

Moral of the story: try calling your phone a bazillion times.  If you can't find it tomorrow or no one picks up or call you back, I'd call up your wireless company and have them can that number ASAP.  If someone has that phone, they could be racking up all sorts of charges on your phone with text messages, internet surfing, calling 900 numbers, all sorts of stuff.

It's a sad thing these days when people are more willing to enjoy playing around and keeping a "new found toy" instead of trying to help return it.  Same thing happened to an old PDA that I had.  I never got it back.

Got my phone back   It was found near 1's basket and the good Samaritan called one of the numbers in my address book.  Only cost my three pieces of plastic.  Now, to sign up for the insurance. . . .

So I ended up getting a CFR Wraith before the tournament on Sunday  ;D
Thanks Scott

It was great, I took it out to a field right after I bought it and it flew exactly like my old Wraith and I was really excited to use it for the tournament (Aurora).

Just before the tournament I was playing a couple warm-up holes to loosen up and as I was approaching the end of the tee pad on hole 9 (pro tee) my plant foot slips on the wet pavement and the release of my disc was immediately looking bad :o but wait there's hope as it starts to turn a little understable...but then it decides to fade, as it's meant to do, and dives into the lake...BUT WAIT I go over to where it went out and it was floating, HELL YEAH! But it's about 15 feet away from the shore and the lake drops off to about 20ft at that point...I seriously thought about jumping in and even took my shoes off and then ploop it sank, and was gone
:'(

R.I.P my 2 CFR Wraiths, you will be missed
