I was in King of Darts on Barrington Rd. yesterday disc shopping and found it he is closing the store at the end of October.  It's really too bad because he always has a decent selection at fair prices and is a nice guy to deal with.

Not sure if he'll be offering any deals on discs towards the end of the month, but I did ask if he is able to send inventory back to manufacturers (referring to all inventory, not just discs) and he said no.

He's not closing because of lack of business but rather because he just wants to get out of a business that requires working seven days a week.  So I was glad to hear he gets to leave on his terms and not because of lack of business.

He never sold it? bummer!  I know that he was looking for someone that would continue to leave the business open and continue selling the products (especially the darts).  I know that the place was up for sale somewhere around $100k, and that includes all inventory, everything.  He was even willing to train you on darts and parts so that you can continue to keep your customer base and keep the place open.

I was actually very tempted to buy this place, but I know very little about darts.  If it was sports cards and disc golf, then sold, but I would also have to quit my full-time job... I don't think I'm quite prepared to do that yet.

Sorry to see him go :(

He said the offers he got were ridiculously low and couldn't even consider them.

where is this place exactly?

Barrington Rd in Streamwood.  It is just north of the Sam's Club on the West side of the road.  The strip mall has a blue roof, and it's in the same strip as a Domino's pizza.  I can't remember what else is in there.  I think there's a pet store just south of it, and when I'm coming up north that's usually my tip that it's time to get ready to turn.  I think there's a Lou Malnati's carry out just across the street?

look at all those landmark details, you'd think I was female or something lol :)  j/k
