i had a great time won 4 CTP's and (played ADV) was paired with marty sitko second round, we lit it up with a -16 for 19 holes. We were tied for first at that point and had to play off. I lost the win and trophy in the playoff but it was still really fun.

The event was run VERY well considering it was the first event put on by the Fox Valley disc golf club.  Congrats guys!  I only have one critique/comment/constructive criticism, and I know there were a lot of people that felt similarly... While the lunch time events were fun, the time in between rounds went really long given the wind and coldness.  If it was summer-time I wouldn't have minded one bit, but I know it was tough for you Aaron to handle the incoming scorecards, get people going with lunch, then coordinate the $1 throw for pole and running the putting contest after that.  I would probably recommend just having the lunch throughout the break and running the side events simultaneously.  The fire helped keep us from completely getting frozen while we waited for round 2, so thanks for getting that going!  The tarps over the side of the pavilion to block the wind was an EXCELLENT idea!

Awesome, awesome event.

THANK YOU to everyone that showed up. The 54 of you helped me exceed my goal of $200 raised for Hesed house by $300 for a whopping total of $500 raised as well as 250 lbs. of canned goods. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
I cannot strees how great it is to have players like you that are willing to come out and help support such a worthy cause. It speaks volumes about the type of players we have in our area.

Congratulations to all the winners (everyone who showed up). I am sure the people that go to Hesed House for a nice meal will be thanking you as well when they get to eat a great meal because of all of you.

I also want to thank all of the sponsors who made it possible to put together 38 CTP prizes. One for each hole on both rounds. I wish I would have been playing so I could have won a couple of those prizes.

On a more personal note, I am glad you all have said that the Ice Bowl went well. I was so nervous about this and did not know how to really run an event except from what I have seen as a player. I do agree that next time I should have lunch at the same time as the games, although I did want to give everyone a chance to warm up a little after their found. I did not think that by stopping play, you would cool down. Something to remember for next year's event!

I could not have run the event without the help of Gary Lewis and Dave Van DeLoo of the Flying Fortress though. They really hepled get the scores put together and kept everything running smooth before each round. Thank you guys!

I will get scores posted up some time later today. Lots of info to put together and get recorded.

Also, look in Monday's Beacon Newspaper. A photographer was at the tourney taking pictures and stated that there may be an article in Monday's paper.

If anyone has any suggestions for the future, let me know!!

Maybe Tuesday. The Beacon is doing a thing called QuickRead Mondays, starting today. The paper is half (or less than half) the regular size. The publisher explains the experiment in the editorial.

Great event Aaron and every one that helped put it together!  I was really impressed with the amount of support everyone gave.

I think I win the dumbass award of the day though.  I realized after my last hole that I had a mulligan in my pocket that I totally forgot about.  When all the scores were posted I saw that I could have tied for 3rd with one less throw instead of 7th  ::)

I was just out there to have fun so I'm not losing any sleep over it plus I did win this sweet 2005 special blend CE ROC the first round (1/795)

Nah, you get the '07 January Sportsman award! You're just not used to HAVING mulligans during a tourney. Easy to forget about 'em.

Fox Metro Discer

We were just trying to throw something that was going to be a good time for the guys that came out to brave the weather. I know I had a good time. I was running on the energy you guys were putting out all day!

Thanks ro everyone again.

Nah, you must have heard of my doubles debacle.  My partner and I used 5 mulligans on hole #8 and still took a 3!!!  That's the mullette award for the day!!  I bought six mullies all day and one of them payed off for me!  Whoops.  I did have a great time out there.  My best memory is Aaron's son throwing farther than him in the buck-a-throw!!
It's great to see all this growth in an area that had no courses when I started playing.  Keep it up guys.  I will do whatever I can to help.

I will. The DVD is free, and I'll include a CD of all the pictures for you. You don't pay for anything; not even the postage. The Fox Valley Metro Disc Golf Club picks up all the charges.

So I'll let you know when it's done, and I can send the package off to you then.

Thanks for coming to the tournament.

Thanks for the pic.
For anyone that hasn't seen it, Aaron's boy can sidearm a MTA Roc incredibly well.
I forgot about the DVD, that's cool.
Thanks go to the whole club for doing things the way they think they should be done and not necesarily the way other people do.
