Montoya will see a lot of that in his rear view mirror
"The use of drugs is a perverse expression of individualism, antisocial and life-denying,It isn't an assertion of individuality; it's a substitute for it. It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

Juan Montoya is doing NASCAR? oye... I couldn't stand the guy when he did CART.  Anybody that raced for Target and Ganassi was annoying lol.

Go Team Andretti (IRL) :)  Although I haven't watched a race since the Indy 500 last year...

Ricky turns 85 this year I believe, so the biggest concern might be whether or not he'll be living come November.

Ricky is actually 51. He had a year off to relax after a whopping 788 races in a row. That record might not be touched again. He is pumped to be back in competitive equipment after racing in that chitty Wood Bros. organization.

When he was with Yates in 2000, 2001, & 2002 he finished 4th, 4th, & 10th in the standings. In 2002 he was having a great year until Yates decided to go with the trend of hiring young guns. He announced that mid year & the team just went downhill.

I don't think he'll win the 500. He's struggled at restrictor plate races so i'm hoping for a top 10. He takes care of his equipment and finishes races. He'll be in the chase this year. I'll bet you $10 on that one Dan.

what is up with all of these crew chiefs getting suspended?  All of this cheating is insane.  Nascar is almost like it's turning into a bad soap opera.

Whenever there is big money in a game, there is big cheating.

There has been cheating in NASCAR since the beginning of NASCAR. NASCAR used to give minor slaps on the wrist. Last year for some of the same cheating Jimmie Johnson's crew chief was suspened from the race and a minor fine. This year for the same cheating they are taking away 25 points and bigger fines.

NASCAR has also established a type of racing (restrictor plate) where some minor cheating can make a huge difference and that is why teams are taking the chance. I believe Michael Waltrip had to cheat. His new Toyota is very slow and he's getting big bucks to make that race.

I see a little respect for the Rooster not taking the top 12 bet but i'll go with Rudd vs Busch. Rudd will smash that elf any day!

There was a limited amount of cheating going on in the CART series back when I was following that.  I think it was either a Penske or a Ganassi car that was disqualified after winning a race because their car was 1/2" too low and therefore had increased aerodynamic performance.

I just find the excuses funny... "oh, we put tape over those holes, but the tape must have come off while he was out driving..."  riiight.

So far............

Busch 10th in the standings
Rudd 34th with a grand total of ZERO top 10 finishes.  What a driver!  His teammate did manage a 4th yesterday.

that was a good race yesterday.  i thought team penske might have something for the hendrick cars at the end, but they got caught up in lap traffic after the last restart.  still a 5th and a 6th not bad.  Kurt with another top 5, things are starting to come together.
