Which one would you choose?

PS3
XBox 360
Neither

Anyone thinking about buying COD4 for PS3, this weekend would be a good time. They're giving 2x Experience points in the online game this weekend & you'll be able to rank up really quickly. I'll be playing most of the weekend when not guzzling beer & burgers at Poorboy's in Oswego Saturday.

Back on topic with this thread, is anyone who touted the Xbox360 or PS3 now regretting or re-considering their choice? The 1 Xbox in 3 Red Ring of Death issue seems to be taken care of with the new Sku, but HD-DVD is now dead, not that we bought a gaming machine to watch movies. My biggest complaint is just that the good PS3 games seem to be continually pushed back as far as release date. Once Mercenaries 2 & the new GTA drop I won't really care though.

Mukey,   you got to believe in the the xbox360 live or nothing.

Nah, especially after I heard about the holiday outage. What are they giving, a crappy downloadable game as compensation? Getting online with the PS3 is easy as heck & I don't worry about paying Sony $ when the system happens to be down.

I haven't really said anything on this topic before but in my opinion I believe that Xbox Live is by far a superior service as opposed to online for PS3...this has always been the case dating back to the PS2 online days...I am a proud Xbox Live surscriber since it's innagural year and still have the same Gamertag since day 1

Why does everybody always only talk about the games?
The PS3 is way prettier, by far, and shiny!  :D

LOL! Microsoft lowered the HD-DVD add on price for the Xbox 360 'cause HD-DVD is dying  ;D

I know a couple of people that have it. Both are planning on selling it as soon as they are done with the single player mission. The single player game has its problems but the online part is almost unplayable. Mics don't work except when you pause the game (2 player online co-op). In full online multi-player when one player drops out the whole game stops. They haven't finished many games as you can imagine. The single player game has really bad AI problems. Computer controlled enemies don't even turn around when you are shooting at them. Some of them are just standing in the corner, facing the corner like they're in time out. There are other issues, but I would definitely say to rent it before buying.

Holy crap, glad I asked

The two player online co-op concept is so cool too. They really dropped the ball on this. If they patch it, it might be worth getting but I'd wait until they patch it rather than just rely on a promise to patch it.

Not being able to talk to eachother while playing online co-op is a joke. That's the whole lure of this game, isn't it? If the co-op is that bad, & that's what they've been touting for this, then I definetly won't buy. The COD4 patch for the PS3 still isn't out yet, but Xbox & PC have it.

Are you getting RSV2? A lot of the guys who I play CoD4 with are planning on getting it.

what I don't get is why something like this could work so poorly when shipped.  I'm a software tester, and you would think that they would have a test for "make sure talking to each other while the game is not paused works ok in multiplayer mode".  That's what I don't like about game systems with hard drives now - they are just being shipped with a mentality of "patch it later"  PC software and games are like that - I know you want to get it out the door so that the revenue can start coming in, but c'mon get it right!

I don't know what the problem was with developing that title. They pushed the release date from some time in 2007 to now so you'd think they would have had time to get it right. And it's not as if it is the best looking FPS out there. CoD4 has that locked up for now in my opinion. They had to have run into some monumental systematic problem with the game that took that much time. Probably developing some of the cool co-op stuff. You can play two people on your console vs two people on another console, split screen mode. As far as I know that has never been done on a console. I don't own the game but I know that there are other cutting edge console features for the game. Maybe they just tried to do too much.

That's definetly on my radar.

I agree with Scott on the release it & patch it later mentality that developers seem to have of late. Too bad Bionic Commando:Rearmed isn't coming out until alter in the year. I'd like to see more of them updating some of the best side scrollers, but keeping them side scrollers vs. going to a 3D world.

Getting rid of Oblivion (I don't play it) for $20 & COD4 for $35 if anyone's interested

Don't buy RSV2. The MP is completely broken on the PS3. Ubi is "working on it". Not holding my breath.
