Are there a substantial amount of women who play.  Enough that is to generate an overall womens open champion?

Barrett White is our perennial Women's Champion.  Maybe Marie or Kelsey will giver her a run this year.  We really just have one pro woman playing regularly and some ams playing up for the fun and experience.

Last year I think we had about 4 other real pro women play. A couple of them played a few events. I believe that none of them played all the events.

I know this has been posted somewhere, but is the $5 preregistration discount applied against the entry fees posted on brasscash.com? iow, is trophy-only $20 - 5 for adv = $15?

Can non-PDGA members play trophy-only in the recreational division ($20.00 + $5.00 = $25.00) for any IOS Event?

As long as the elves haven't calculated a rating for them that precludes it.

Okie-boy Kevin McCoy has a new slogan for the IOSeries:

"Setting new standards of mediocrity for crappy players."

Now how am I going to get even with that?

Hmmmmm, what a difference 7 months make:

Well, we have yet to prove that an Illinois-an can beat Courtney (she beat Barrett by one throw in Peoria last year), but we know there's at least one better than you, k-mac!  I'll accept a cashier's check in the mail for my winnings!

I had forgotten that Kevin McCoy was on my get even list.  I'm starting to get mediocre in the getting even category.

If the IOS powers that be decide that the pre-reg discount isn't worth the hassle for next year (which I hope isn't the case), I thought this different enticement for pre-reg "Pre-Registered players will be entered [in a] prize raffle" from the Lincoln Park tourney is worth considering.

We could do that.  I could make some cool dyed discs and use those.  I want to work on some Warner Bros characters over the summer.  The problem with the pre-reg discount is four entry fees per division.  It makes the accounting twice as much work.

just do the mayor dayey and cook county thing
raise fees  by 10 % and stress that you will save $ pre reg

i wish the ace fund and 50/50 would be an option also ( not sure if there are legal ramifications or not )

i know one of the arguments is what if i cant play that day after pre-reg ing
i know you guys are typically flexible on "refunds"
but if there was a firm spelled out policy of
hey if you pre reg  and cant play you and you didnt give us 48 hours notice you get __________ ( discs, brass cash, entry fee for next T, insert your own idea here)

i think people are afraid of pre reg because of the what if i cant play issue and the hey its pouring cats and dogs - im not playing )

i tend to want to committ and pre reg as i know im playing and it makes it easier on the people running the T

ex:  homie t - it s going to be a mess to register 150 players on sunday - it cant be good to look  up and see like 50 people waiting in line waiting to register - it will create a players excuse of " i would have played better if i had time to practice because i spent 45 minutes waiting in line to registe"

so what does that  mean to me to avoid waiting - is that i got to get up earlier to get there to allow some practice time-
but then if i there too early i might over practice  and wear out early

my .02 cents

You mean like this (as posted on brasscash.com)
Pre-registration Policy->
If the TD is contacted Friday or before the event weekend, the pre-registered players money will be held and can be used at any of the IOS events left in 2007. If they don't show to any of the later events the money will be used in the prize pool at the final event. If the TD is not contacted Friday or before the event weekend the money will be added to the prize pool that weekend.

Ace fund and 50/50 are options as far as I know at 99% of the tourneys.

I am going to write up a new refund policy for 2008. I'm not completely comfortable with how it is written now although it won't be completely different. Bruce and Brett will have to approve it (well, one of them will have to anyway) but they have said that they are open to changes. I'll keep your comments/suggestions in mind while I rewrite it.

[edited to add the word "not" in front of comfortable...THAT completely changes the meaning of that, now doesn't it!]

Gee whiz, that's kind of funny. For future reference, I wouldn't take anything Kevin posts on-line too seriously. He's a cool guy in person...for a Cubs fan, that is.

Speaking of USDGC, I'll get around to doing a write-up and posting it early next week.
