Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that over this weekend my dad suffered a severe heart attack and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.  It happened Saturday morning while Sara and I were helping out at the Irish you the Best of Luck tournament.  It was surreal to bring all my stuff out there, unload, set up, and then an hour later be called away and leave everything there.  Sara stayed behind at the hospital to be with my mom while I came back at the end of the tournament.

He died at way too young of an age of 47.  He was a fellow disc golfer, and while he was not very good at it, he loved playing it so very much.  He enjoyed playing at Lippold in Crystal Lake with my brothers and me.  Near the end of last season he was so excited about learning how to get his backhand to stay flatter and straighter off release and was so much looking forward to this year.

If anyone of you should want to come out:
Visitation - Friday, March 9th - Willow Funeral Home, Algonquin, IL - 4 to 9 PM
Funeral - Saturday, March 10th - Church in the Word, Elgin, IL - 10 AM

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memoriam of my dad to Church in the Word.  Additionally, you could send donations to me and I will forward on your donations to the church.

I know the funeral coincides with the club tournament, so if you were planning on going to the tournament please go ahead and do that!  I know that my dad would enjoy that.

thanks everyone :)  My family seems to be mostly handling it well.  My grandma is in bad shape (who wouldn't be if you outlive one of your kids?), but who knows what will happen Friday and Saturday when mass amounts of people come out!  He knew so many people.  I don't think I'm going to have time, but weather permitting I might go play a round at Lippold where we always played together on Sunday in the afternoon.  Maybe I'll ace 7 this time instead of just hitting off the top of the basket ;)

Thanks again all!

i have to say that my dad is one popular and cool dude.  There are rough estimates of at least 300 people that came out to the wake and then a count of 170 at the funeral.  Thanks to the guys from Disc Golf Alley club that came out to the wake.  Now it's time for reality to start setting in...

I tried throwing today sort of as a tribute to my dad.  man did I stink it up big time.  lol, tough to keep my brain focused you know?
