Is the CHOKE coming? I cannot believe the Sox did not pick up anyone to help them down the stretch. A losing month & under .500 since the all star break. This could get interesting.

As a Cubs fan I wouldn't be surprised to see us miss the playoffs. Anything else is a bonus. The Cardinals never fail to break our hearts. Hopefully SD can do some damage.

we lost a game, i wouldn't call this choking yet...we are the 2nd hottest team in the NL.

in 2005 the white sox lost alot more than 1 game in the final weeks of the season which is why we called it CHOKING.

I just don't like how the Cards are pretty much letting the Brewers win.  On Monday the Cardinals let the brewers be up 4-0 before even an out was recorded, and then last night it was 3-0 with 2 homeruns from the first 3 batters of Milwaukee.  How blatant is that?

If San Diego wants to get in the playoffs, they are going to play the Brewers EXTREMELY hard.  Cubs just need to win 3 in order to force a 1-game playoff, and that's IF the Brewers win out.  That's going to be tough when the Brewers need to sweep San Diego too.

Hopefully the Cubs can win tonight to keep the lead at a minimum of 2 games.  That helps people not panic as much!

No need to panic Cubs fans.  Odds are they will win their division.  All the fear after one loss is sort of like getting on your feet and cheering for a warning track fly ball... oh yea,I forgot, you guys are Cubs fans.  I get it.  In any case, things look good and as the Cards proved last year, just get in and anything can happen. As Judy Tenuta has taought us, "It could happen" and this year it really might happen.  Meanwhile, my mantra is that age old baseball phrase, "wait til next year!"  Anybody taking action on Sox '08 v. Cubs'08?

Didn't the White Sox of '05 have an almost choke going to get to the playoffs?  I think I do recall quite a White Sox fandom panic.  Same thing happened with the '06 Cardinals.  They almost blew what, a 7-game lead over Houston?

It's tough for a Cubs fan to get their hopes up in fear of being Sammy So-so'd.  There's always a huge weight on the shoulders of the team trying to get it done.  Look at this year's Red Sox.  The Yankees have almost taken 1st place away from them.  Minnesota took away first from Detroit last year.  The tough thing for the Cubs is that they do not have the Wild Card to fall back upon.

What was really sad was that the other day I heard the radio announcer telling everyone what the magic number was for the white sox to clinch staying out of last place.  That's not really a great platform to be standing on and shouting down the Cubs fans this year.

In other news - the umpire that incited Milton Bradley was suspended, YAY.  About stinking time they do something like that!

Talk to Rhett Stroh or some other SoCal TD.  If he wants to get a dozen Padres or Chargers discs, you could piggyback on that.
