I have contacted several area schools about this event including Warren, Libertyville, & Carmel which have disc clubs. I have sent out an e-mail to both Grayslake N & Central & Mundelein. Last year there were 6 schools represented and 20 total players.

Just a reminder that next Monday is the HS Shootout. We have a few donated prizes.

Club members, if you can make it out i'd appreciate the help. Walking with groups and helping them with rules would be sweet!

Brett, just a thought I had today. Maybe you should consider changing the name of the tournament. Today Maddisen's class had a water balloon toss. I asked her "How was the water balloon fight?" and she said "We are not allowed to have 'fights', it was a water balloon toss!" I'm curious if some schools do not promote the event because it has "Shootout" in the title. I know it's stupid but you know how school bureaucrats are these days.

As sad as it is. The title is more than likely not PC.

or we could just clarify the name by calling it the High School Disc Golf Homicide Challenge.  that way people will understand that disc golf will be involved with the gun battle.

I think that there is nothing wrong with "shootout" if we want to change from a disc golf tournament to a shooting sports tournament thats fine too. Its rather pathetic how people this days have to be so careful to be Politically correct....
