Dineen...

...is still closed.  The GLDGC site says that Dretzka and Brown Deer are closed and to play Dineen. So I thought I would do so.  I was in Milwaukee yesterday with some spare time and brought a van full of kids to romp around Dineen.  We saw a sign saying the park had been  closed since 3-29.  We played object golf for about 5 holes, wiped the mud off our shoes and went home.  From what I saw the park is nice and I am looking forward to playing there this summer.

So I made the trip up to Milwaukee today to see and play all the worlds courses.  Started at Dineen.  I will never, ever, ever go back.  Instead of slamming the course, I'll just repeat what happened today, and you tell me if I'm out of line.

-Show up at about 11am.
-Drive through a really, really shady neighborhood to get there.
-As I'm driving about a block from the course, I see two undercover cop cars with 3 guys face down on the sidewalk at gunpoint.
-I pull into the parking lot where there are 2 groups of people just milling about....at 11am on a Tuesday.
-As soon as I park, a guy knocks on my window and tells me to pray for him followed by some bs story of how his house had burned down and he needed $ for 8 bus tickets (he got out of a car!) to get to some Mission.  When I told him no, he got furious and told me to "F@#$ off you stupid Mother F@#$er!!!" pretty loudly.
-I grew up in a bad neighborhood, so I get out to play after he walks away and gets back in his car.  I grab my bag and head to what I think is the 1st tee.....No tee signs or indicators of which holw is which at all.
-I throw the first three holes, I think.  I find a hypodermic near the third tee.  I'm now kinda back behind a big bush, so I get worried about my car.  I walk out and see 3 guys standing around my car looking in the windows and a 4th walking out on the course (I'm assuming to see if I was far enough away to steal my stuff or car or both).  He sees me, turns around, and the other three leave my car.
-I get back in my car and go to Brown Deer.

These people clearly knew that people parked there and then wandered off to play dg.  I'm guessing they are targeting disc golfers there to use the park so beware.  When I got to Brown Deer, I played a round with a guy I met there (Yohann)who told me that the only round he had played at Dineen was in the winter and they had found shell casings on the ground.

Maybe I just got all the bad shit in one visit, but WTF?

Yes, I called the cops, but I didn't want to stay to file a report so they basically said that no crime was actually committed but they'd "keep an eye out and send a unit by".

BTW, Dretzka and Brown Deer were stunning!
