Got a chance to check this out yesterday with Elmo and Younk. With how much land they had to work with and with everything already at this park, the course turned out really well! A couple longer holes mixed in with some nice elevation changes along with great strategically placed baskets, this course is going to be nice. It doesn't interfere with the skate park, tennis courts, basketball courts and playgrounds, however, there are a couple holes though where you have to throw over a walking path. All of the grass has been planted and the baskets are in storage waiting to be installed. Cement tee pads will also be installed. The anticipated open date for the course is the end of June. Nice job Chris and Mike!

If anyone else is driving there, this park is on the north side of Irving Park Rd, a couple miles west of 59. It's called Sunny Hill Park, but look for the green sign that reads: Streamwood Park District.

The 1st tee is up on the incline east of the skateboard park.  You walk back toward Irving Park Road. You shoot around the white flower tree, to the grouping of trees behind it. It's about a 240-ft shot. And then, #2 is around the building (on the east side).

They probably wouldn't want a lot of traffic just yet. It looks like a brand new park. A lot of the disc golf area doesn't have grass yet. We only played a few holes, so we wouldn't walk over all their nets (protecting the growing grass). It looks like it might be a mostly open course. Looks like a good time.

can't putt

Went to check out this course today.  Pulled into the parking lot and saw the first basket in the ground.  "Cool", I said, "we're in business".  Found the first tee, played hole 1 and deuced it.  Looked for hole 2 and ... walked completely around the park and found no more baskets.  A couple of tee locations are still marked, but that's it.  Has anyone aced hole 1?  If not, I'm claiming "2" as the course record!!!

I thought they had the grand opening for the course this past weekend?  That's kinda stinky that only one is in!

Tony?  Any other Streamwood regulars?  Any idea what's going on?

The grass has not grown in AT ALL. Once the rest of the grass grows in, the other baskets will be installed. This lack of rain has really hurt  :(

A bunch of guys from the Streamwood doubles league are up there today.  Hopefully it will be completely done by this time next week...i actually heard someone say we are going to play league there next week.

This is a fun course, not tough (I shot -5 my 2nd trip around, and better players can probably deuce all of them) but some nice elevation changes, and it should play a lot harder when it's windy.

There are several possibilities for alternate holes and tees as well. In fact, when I first walked up to #2 I thought I was shooting at what's actually basket #3, which would be a long downhill 400+ hole I think. Then I looked at the tee sign.  ::)

No teepads of any kind yet though, so watch your footing and look out for some stumps.
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??
