Can people give me some ideas of course rental fees that they know for courses they currently use? For example, if I were to host a tournament, what would be the cost for rental of the course (closing the course to casual players), shelter areas, etc?

Or, you can direct me to people to talk to regarding the fees.

Thank you.

waukegan has no fee to close the course that I'm aware of, but they will do so upon request. the picnic shelter is $50/day.

The IOS pays $1 to $2 per player per day. We've never rented a pavillion but I know the costs vary from free (just make a reservation) to $100 per day on the high side.

Does the IOS pay this per pak or just in Waukegan?

I did some research in the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas and some are quite expensive.

The IOS has never held an event in Waukegan and I don't know what per pak means.

Ahhh...I'm stupid. We paid somewhere around $2 per player in UW Parkside but I think it's a set fee so it depends on turn out. We don't rent a building or pavilion at any of our events. Lombard was $1 per person. Crystal Lake was $1 per person. Round Lake doesn't charge us a fee but the club has been donating time to help maintain the course. I don't know the fee at Rockford this year...Brett is checking on it. Jericho was $1 per player last year.

Lombard charges $35 per day for a resident to reserve the pavilion (if we can find a resident to reserve it we will get it next year. They've always told us a non-resident rate which is something outrageous like $100 per day). Rockford doesn't charge for the pavilion but they fill fast. This year we got it for Saturday but not for Sunday just like last year. Aurora included the pavilion in the $1 per player fee last year.

I always think of that event as the 2005 Blast. I forget that the Blast and the IOS merged for that event.

That's what I meant...thanks.

Do you feel the $1 or $2 per person is reasonable?
I know our leagues take a $1/person/week and give it to the course maintenance fund.

$1 is reasonable.  $2 per player is as high as I want to go unless there are golf carts and a clubhouse thrown in.  Then I'll go as high as $10 per player!   ;D
