Haha I had to hold off on driving hole 8 because there were 2 little kids (probably 7 or 8 years old) bashing the basket with sticks twice their size and then they proceeded to hang on it like a jungle gym.  They were little though...

But it's a damn shame we can't have nice things on some of these courses due to some little punks & thier lack of respect. I was going to ask why Warren doesn't have Tee Signs but it makes sense now, It's a money pit...  Suddenly Bevier is pretty awesome!

Tee pads are clear  ;D

I got out to Grayslake this afternoon. The course is pretty dry. The sad part are the vandals out there. 2 of the signs are destroyed already. They just put them back in last fall. #9's basket is in bad shape. Weld broken on the basket and chains are jacked up  :(

This is bad news indeed. I was never a huge fan of the set up at Grayslake but senseless vandalism is something that I do not understand. Is there anything that we could do in order to help with this course?

jasonc

Unfortunately, the only way to prevent vandalism out there is to have a cop/park ranger/school security go out on regular patrols, particularly during after school hours.

There are a lot of other activities going on in that park.  Whether or not the troublemakers are there just hanging out or being dragged along to a sibling's baseball/soccer/football practice....they are at the park and they like to destroy anything they can get their hands on.

CEValkyrie

I agree with that Jason. I don't think disc golfers are destroying the signs and baskets. There are tons of unsupervised kids out there every day. They just break stuff to break stuff.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Is there anything that we could do this year to make the park better. Set aside a morning to clean the park or possibly fix that is even an option.

CEValkyrie

The course is in pretty good shape. The 2 signs and basket will need to be fixed by the park district. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't replace the signs.

Good deal. I will have to get a round in once it stops raining.

CEValkyrie

Grayslake was surprisingly dry. The only mud was around the tee for #3.

Good to hear. I wish that I would have went over for a round yesterday. I will try to give it a play this week for sure. Thank you for the update!

Saw a pic that my friend posted on Facebook this morning, it would appear Hole 9's basket has been broke. The basket was lying on the ground. He rigged it up by putting a stick under it to hold it but it looks like it will need a new bolt?

jerks.
