I saw on the Waukegan Park District Web Page that the Callahan family has the park across the street named after them. Have we ever thought about getting them to sponsor us?

Last I heard, and I believe this was from Jim, the Callahans are all deceased. I don't know this as a fact, however.

That is good news indeed! Wonder why jimbo would say such a thing..... ???

I don't think I ever said they were dead, because I have had no concrete info.  I believe I did say that there had been no communication from them in a few years. Mike Trigg didn't even have current info on them as of last year.

I think it is a great idea to talk to them!!!  Bill and Angela, can you uncover what might be possible and how interested they might be in helping us out?  Lemme know!

jim

I can pay in food, discs, guitar picks or lint-encrusted money that was washed in my jeans. Or you can just take it out of the spank fund.

jim

As soon as I get done posting, I'll be writing checks (for bag tags and discs) and sending the Callahans' letter.  I'll post a copy soon in Club Members section.

Still doing research on Optimists Club.  Sounds ideal, but their preferred sports do not seem to include disc golf. I'll be emailing the nearest representative office tomorrow probably.

now that would be a definite no then!

I will be going to Home Depot either Thursday or Friday. I'll keep you posted.

Jim, have you contacted the Callahan family about donating a basket?

Anyone have any other ideas about sponsorships?

The sister of the person that the Bevier Disc Golf course was installed in honor of, goes to our church. Every once in a while her and her family will play nine holes. Her kids are in Angela's children's choir, I think. If Angela doesn't know them, I'm sure Matt's mom knows them. She knows everyone. I think their last name in Wauzniak, but I'm not sure. I've only met them once.

Anyway, they are not all deceased. The sister is probably in her mid 30's or so, and I think her parents are still alive.

No problem............for a nominal fee, of course.

Myk

What about going to a couple of the Park Disctricts that we're in contact with now and ask them to sponsor a hole or two?

I will be more than happy to sponsor some events/tourneys, etc. but I need to make a little $ first :-)  Jim and I have talked about having Hyzerhurths.com as a sponsor for possibly Jr. leagues.

Brett- The store is fully up and operational and I've had a few sales but I've been mainly focusing on getting my name out there with various DG clubs and info sites plus some sponsorships.  Hopefully it'll take off a little better by summer.
