first off, directions are simple...just turn right onto water st. off of state immediately before the bridge and park. hole one is located right by a little gravel parking lot next to the playground.
after being very excited about this new course opening, i was a little let down by the design. most holes seemed to be between 250-300 feet, and none were too challenging. hole two was strange because of the creek and brush fairway, but still an easy three. hole three was a joke...i have already started thinking about alternate tees. it is maybe a hundred feet with no real obstructions. hole five has a ton of underbrush as the fairway, and the fox river clamed a bad sidearm toss by my brother.
after the first five, you need to walk under the bridge and into the parking lot of the police station, where you will find the next tee. the following holes will get real messy if you are not playing alone...they intersect each other a lot. hole seven will clam lots of discs to the river again if you dont have a very controlled backhand.
overall, i was not impressed by the course layout but i am so happy to have a course that is near me that i dont care.

I don't know what happened with hole three, the parks dept put the tee in the wrong place.  It should be 30-40 feet west towards the river.  That way the tree on the other side of the brook really comes into play, either a tight low shot that might make it up the hill or a big hyzer that may hit any of the trees surrounding the basket.  I will talk to the parks superintendent about moving it.

The basket for 9 is very close to the fairway for 6, & if there are fisherman encroaching on that fairway or picnickers parked right in the middle of it, then there could be problems.

Hopefully we can get the trees trimmed right in front of the tee for 8 so there's more of a path towards the basket.

East towards the river?  >:D

I don't see that any fairways cross.  A tight park makes for some holes close to each other, but no real problems.  Nice layout given limited space.

Working Stiff

I liked 8, if anything I'd move it over to get away from # 7's basket and give less of an opening for that drive.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that the course is there.  But...a lot of 2's out there.  A tight gap for 8 would add a little for the serious golfers.

I have absoututly no idea how you would toss a drive on 5 into the Fox.  ???

We played the gravel road on 2 as OOB, little did we know the gravel comes up right behind the basket.  That combined with the creek made 2 a circlefest.

I agree with this post. We had a group out there today. Big arms, and good technical players. We all liked it. Very good use of that land.

I would recommend checking it out. And it's not a long drive to get the the new (or old) Streamwood courses from there.
