Yeah they played the shorts both rounds.

4A was a typo on the flag, it was somewhere around 350 or 360, not 260.

While spotting on Saturday I discovered that my head attracts discs like a magnet. (spotting 2 holes at once) As a result, next year I'll be taking cash donations (to benefit the course) for specific places you would like me to stand before your drive in hopes of keeping people out of the prairie.  ;)

Thanks to everyone who came out, hopefully everyone had a great time. Next year I hope we can avoid the 4 hour rounds for everyone playing on the upper day.

So a Grandmaster throwing a 58 off the short tees in the first round on Saturday rates 982 while an Intermediate throwing to the same pin locations from the same tees in round 1 on Sunday rates 947.  Must have been pretty brutal out there Saturday morning.  >:D

I don't know if the conditions warrant that big of a spread, but I do believe the conditions were pretty miserable Saturday morning. It had rained just about all Friday night so the branches were over loaded with water making a lower ceiling.  The humidity was higher on Saturday and the course hadn't had much play during the week.  Everything seemed more overgrown than normal. With 80+ players on the course on Saturday, it may have opened up the throwing lanes a little bit for the rounds on Sunday.  On the other hand I could be completely off base.

Just saw that they changed the online report and separated out the GMs (which Kurt was referring to), so ignore my original post if you saw it; and last night's too, for that matter.

Plug those scores and those ratings into the ratings spreadsheet, though, and that's pretty close to where the round ratings come out for that pool.
thanks,

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

It was nice to have the course in the toughest positions for the short time it was.  We are looking forward to next year, as there will be some changes in the course with the construction and new 9 holes that will be going in.

Would you guys be interested in a 2 day event out here?  Standing Rocks style event?
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
To all who attended and all who volunteered their time, sweat, blood, mosquito bites, bee stings, etc. (especially those who put in the hard work to make sure the course was as playable as it could be considering the amount of rain we accumulated).

The Holsten Basket was won by Arlene Ruffalo (a professor here at the university).

There were 176 participants over the two days of competition.
Congratulations to all of the division winners.

Special thanks to all those who participated in the raffle. Your generosity is always appreciated.
Huge thanks to all of our sponsors. Please visit www.prairieopen.com to see a list of our sponsors.

As any event, we are always looking to improve for the following year. Please send any comments/suggestions through email or PM to me. BE HONEST (I think I can handle it the truth).

Thanks, again, and I hope to see you next year...or probably at the next IOS event.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Prarie Open. I had a great time playing at Parkside again. It was nice to see some old friends again. I wish I could make it down more often. The course looked very good. I can't wait to see the 9 new holes.

Having a Higher rating is really what changed my game completely.   When I was 920 rated my putt just would not go in no matter what, then when the PDGA gave me a higher rating all of those same putts just started to magically go in.  For all of those rating whores out there, I have some info on how to improve your rating whore technique.  Only play tourneys on your home courses and practice the perfect throw for every hole.  If you like to tee off from a certain side of every tee pad make sure to grease the other side down so your opponents consistently fall on there ass from each tee, the thing about ratings is that when other people in the tourney do bad it makes it look like your doing a lot better, thus giving you a higher rating for your normal round.  Also try to get the TD to make OB in places you never come near but you see your opponents get close to.  If you want further advice on how to become the best rating whore just send me a pm.

Ya neal good one bud. I simply said that the rounds some times are fishy between the two days.  I dont care about ratings, I travel around and shoot alot of tourneys blind.

Dam Matt you are defiantly park forests finest.  I think after this big of an INT win you got the momentum to just jump up to pro and start playing for some money.  Just because you have not even finished in the top half of an advanced tourney should not hold you back.  I know the pdga have not treated you very fair and have probably underrated all of your previous rounds.  Officially you are 903 rated but your playing like a 975 seasoned pro.  Ah but there is one last thing I just saw!

I guess the Once in a Blue Moon Classic did not treat you to well with a hot 862 rated round, and then whats this a 999 for the second round.  I did have the leave the worlds event this year but I had a 964, and a 1014 rated round,. for work and family related reasons I had to drop out of my first ever tourney and have my only career DNF.  I have played over double the pdga sanctioned events and probably many more unsanctioned events then you also have a DNF.  Still with all that said I think the pdga is robbing your ass of some serious rating points and I would immediately get them on the phone to get this mess str8nd out.  I dont know Matt but it seems like you dont practice what you preach from what the pdga sight tells me.  Kick some ass this year bro!  I know you can get in the top half of an ADV tourney's one of these times!
