yes the bears will win the super bowl this year.

I agree with MIke that its do or die with Rex and we have to stick with him this year.  However I'm still going to get pissed at him when he fumbles 3 times and throws 3 picks in a game and we lose by 1 score.  He definitely has potential.  The defense will be just as good if not better than last year, so watch out!!!

Lance Briggs' Lamborghini was found abandoned and crashed into a light pole on 94 at 3:50am last Monday.  Thank god he can afford to abandon a Lamborghini and get the hell out of there and avoid a DUI and possible suspension.

This Rex Grossman thing has to go. He's played in 24 games as a pro and started in the Super Bowl in what really was his rookie year. He threw for 3200 yards and 23 TD's last season. If he continues to improve this could finally be the qb the Bears have been searching for. I have no idea why fans are booing him. Do you really want to see Griese on the field?

I don't think he is going to avoid a suspension.  How can Lovie continue to support these guys in public?  You would think that he would say something in public about he doesn't condone the behavior of these guys.  I know this is from a Packer fan perspective, but it doesn't make sense to me.

I think the league is going to give him a one game suspension.

Dan Michler

you think he is getting 1 game for a misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident offense?

It wouldn't suprise me if Goodel (sp?) comes down on Briggs with a 4-6 game suspension.  Look at these other jerks in the league, the pacman jones or ex-bear tank johnson.  This league is finnaly trying to control the outside activies of these players...

Ha!  Yeah I'm sure Briggs will get 4-6 games for a small misdemeanor.  In that case, I guess they will have to kill Vick and all of his family.

I don't think Briggs will get suspended at all.  They can't prove that he was drunk driving, or that he was even speeding.  Sure, it's almost a guarantee that he was doing one or the other, but they can't prove it unless someone saw him.  I don't think it's necessary to suspend a guy for a misdemeanor.  I'm sure there were other players on other teams involved in traffic accidents, or even DUI's that didn't get suspended.  You just don't hear about it because they aren't the local teams, or big name players.

There isn't a problem with Lovie supporting Briggs.  Like I said, no one knows what actually happened, maybe a deer ran out in front of him and he swerved and hit a pole.  Unlikely? yes, but Lovie can't jump to conclusions like fans can.

Lance Briggs gets a movie deal!

You'll have to excuse Tom, he has nothing to look forward to this NFL season except a boat load of turnovers and 20 point losses.

Briggs will get one game off.

He lied to the police.  The NFL has a hard time with that.  He may have made a wise choice in leaving the scene as nobody can prove he was drinking or doing anything else that would be improper.  However, who is kidding who?  330am and he smashes into a sign.  Maybe a deer ran into the sign.  If that's the case you don't leave the scene and "panic" as he said and lie to the police.   Maybe he was up late spending the night with somebody who did not want their liason to be public.  That would be a GOOD interpretation of events. Odds are its something more nefarious than that.  Lance is lucky.  He is not hurt. He did not hurt anybody else. He did not get a DUI.  He can afford to eat 150k in damage to his car and he will only lose a game of playing time.  I think he skates on this one and hopefully learns his lesson.

Maybe he was visiting sick children at the hospital and is so humble he doesn't want anyone knowing it.

Perhaps you just need to go back to English class.  :police: (<---English Police!) The "his" in my sentance was properly referring to Rodman. The word "his" always refers to the last male that was named last. My reference was that if you believe that Lance was "visiting sick children" then you'd also believe that when Rodman was found in the Pistons parking lot at 3am after a game night with a loaded shotgun in his lap, that he was "just cleaning his gun" and had no intention of eating some lead.

Nah, that was an intentional infraction of the English laws. After reading David's "Maybe he was up late spending the night with somebody who did not want their liason to be public" line, the innuendo of Rodman cleaning Lance's gun was too good to pass up, even if grammatically incorrect in the reading. Which is why the  :icon_joker:

Was Senator Craig there with Briggs and Rodman?

Forcing the english police on someone and spelling sentence wrong.  Excellent.
