i'm visiting a friend on the 20th and want to do some disc golf. i saw a thing for fairfield and some others but just wondering where a good place to go. maybe 2 courses that are somewhat near each other or more importantly near wauconda. let me know. also any good stores to go to there that have some discraft plastic.

thanx

well there is a tournament on the 20 th and 21 st at Fairfield that weekend
------

so i would say come out and check out the merchandise there as there will be a great selection of discs
if you have time - play the tournament -pre reg  is recommended
if you dont have time - you could sign up for the T and play trophey only and play only the morning round
-----
the course will be packed as there is a large ace fund rolling over
-----
you willl not be able to sneak in a casual round around the T

looking at the pdga course directory  results
(again im in zip 60655 - thats the south side of chicago)

i think adler in libertyville is the best course verses the other 9 holers in the area
but but but crystal lake appears to be a winding rt 176 drive to lippolt park which is 18

here is the link to the IL courses discussion

If you don't want to play the tourney play Crystal Lake's Lippold park (18 holes) and the 9 holer at the elementary school.

You won't see a bigger spread of merch than what we have at the tournament, and our Discraft prices are way below what you see in stores.  We sell Innova at the price they want it sold for, so our Innova is probably the same as stores.

Like they said, if you aren't in the tournament, the course is going to be too crowded to get in a round.  But if you were to show up around noon, you could tee off and get in a round on the tournament lunch hour.

Spuds has forgotten that Bevier is 18. If you want to drive a little.... could play Bevier in Waukegan in the morning then go up to Kenosha, WI and play Parkside in the afternoon.

We'll be out there with the merch from 8am until about 6pm. The tournament is from 9am until about 5pm with an hour break for lunch. Registration starts some time between 7:30am and 8am.

Who visits wauconda?  lol     I live in Wauconda and fairfield is for sure the closest 18 holer.  Bevier is a 40 min drive. Kenosha is an hour drive.  Faifield is a 10-15 min drive.  If you want to play a short 9 holer, Mundelein is a 15 min drive.

i don't choose where my friends live but hey have a condo on the lake there so thats where i will be.

well the reason i mentioned crystal lake was it is 18 , i have never played the 9 hole course there , but it looks like a winding road cruise straight west on rt 176

correct me if im wrong

Fairfield is probably your best choice.  I wouldn't recommend the Crystal Lake 9-holer because the average distance on a hole is 150 ft, some are a little longer but no real challenge here.  I'll be running a tournament there on Friday for middle school kids (the course is at the school), but it's pretty easy for them too.

Fairfield is the choice if you're going to play the tournament. If you're not going to play the tournament or look over the merchandise then it's probably not a good choice.
