All the baskets have been pulled at this course. There is a sign that reads "Course Closed. Relocating this summer".
This could be a good thing especially if they use that land on Grand Ave across from Cedar Lake in Lake Villa.

Please fill me in if you find out where this course has moved to. Unfortunately r got to trie it out, but it sounds like it was a pretty decent course. Hopefully, wherever it's new location is is even better. Also, do you think that it will  stay a 9-holer?

ChrisE

Any news about the replacement course for Lake Villa?

ChrisE

All but 2 of the tees are back in the ground and fairways are cut out there.  The first hole, and hole 5 both are missing baskets, but everything else is in and playable.

I wonder the same as well but I doubt any true disc golfer would do this.  Maybe some ghetto assholes? Who knows, either way its bogus and expensive to replace.

So I have heard from others that they are taking out the current Lake Villa course and putting in a new course in that same area with the opening of the new park in there.  Anyone have more information on that?

This course is completely pulled. I got a chance to walk the new land by the skate park today. There is more land than I thought and it goes back pretty far all the way behind the mansion. I heard some rumors that they are going to move the course over there. The land is mostly flat without many obstacles it would take a very creative design to make it worth playing (some decent tee pads would help also). It's amazing how much money Lake Villa spent on the new skate park area and the walking path with that stupid ass exercise equipment that nobody ever uses. They even put in a roller hockey rink. During this time they let their disc golf course go to sh!t. The reason they had missing baskets is because they were barely in the ground and sitting at 45 degree angles from when they reinstalled them after they were pulled for no reason a couple months ago. So basically I don't expect much if they do move the course.

ChrisE

I know about a month ago they announced in the papers that they were moving the course to the new area.  So they at least made some comment about it.

Lake Villa's relocated course is a joke! It is 9 baskets in a small field with no tee pads. The baskets are poorly installed so they have no reason to be surprised when some end up missing again. If you don't live close don't waste your time it is a very bad course.

Congratulations Lake Villa :occasion16: :occasion18: :wav: You now have the worst course in Lake County.

The Mecca keeps growing! Too bad it's the wrong direction. What a joke.

WOW! This course is really bad. Like Tom said. Don't waste your time. There is not 1 good hole of 9. This rivals the worst in IL.

It's very close to the old course. You enter the same area. There is a gravel road that keeps running north where  a bunch of new actvities have been added. Those include soccer, football, walking trail with fitness stations, restroomes, skate park, and roller hockey. Park by the roller hockey rink. There are no tee pads so just feel free to make your own. The frustrating  part is looking at the Lake County Forest Preserve land just north of this POS.

This course was finally redesigned as part of 'opening' the park with a new name in honor of the Lake Villa mayor.  The baskets had prevoiusly been just strewn about the field with basket-high weeds.

The redesigned course rivals the worst in the world.  Good luck finding the tees as they are marked lightly with blue paint in the grass.  There is a course map laying on the ground near the sign that says 'Disc Golf Course Rules' which allowed me to figure out the layout.  Holes 1 and 4 are challenging deuce holes.  Holes 6 and 8 are long, open holes with the potential to lose a disc in the long grass.  Holes 7 and 9 I could not find the tee, but they were open deuce holes.  Hole 2 is a tight wooded putter shot.  Holes 3 and 5 are good for a laugh.  On the tees located in the woods you have to really battle with the bush just to get a place to throw from.  Fantastic course!

A waste of 9 perfectly good baskets.

This course is absolutely ridiculous. It's been installed and moved 3 times. It's one of the worst man. I updated my review on DGCR.

Ha!  Honestly, if they just put the baskets in a wide open field with no obstacles, the course would be more fun than what they have set up.  What sucks is you know some people probably have their first (and most likely last) exposure to disc golf courtesy of this course.
