People under 935 sign up for Am 1 cause they want to try to make the final nine.  Am2 has no final nine.
True.

It does not explain the guys playing up in Am 2, however.

Not a big deal.  All the BG pre-reg tells us right now is that higher rated players don't know how to pre-reg.  ^_^

Ya that could be.. I just cant wait for the ratings to come out.. They are going to have alittle mess on there hands, with people moving up and down.  They should have waited till after the update so that all ratings would be locked in...

How many people rated under 935 have made the Final Nine?   ::)

I think the January ratings update mostly just picks up the late tournament results, like illinois States and Channahon, and a few December tournaments, so it does not affect many players or move ratings very far.

I heard from Chuck Kennedy that the January ratings update is the last one before Bowling Green.  Assuming I stay down, I'll play intermediate in Bowling Green.  I haven't been an intermediate since 2002, I think.

caugh, bagger, no just kidding you should do well then... Ya there will most likely be no players in the final nine rated below 935.  I think they just want the chance to make the final nine. The courses they will play are also better. I hope i dont get bumped up to Am1 after this rating, that would not be good.  I have 6 tourneys that are not on my rating.

Question:  Top Bannana are you bruce?  If So, will each division play on the same days like last year , so people can play both days?

Not a bagger.  It is a new system this year.  None of the divisional nomenclature means what it used to mean.

I'm Bruce.  The divisional plan for the 2008 IOS is Open, Am 2 and Am 4 on Saturday.  All other divisions on Sunday.  This way everyone can play both days and on one day they only have to play up one division.  Since the slow learners will already be playing up a division, this should be interesting!

That sounds like it will work out well.
