What is the over/under on Bulls wins this year?  I think all the Kobe talk has really hurt the team this year.

skipache

they should try to make more baskets than the other team, that could win games haha, i remember when i was little while they were winning championships in the 90's , we had "guys nights" and had root beer floats and watched the game

They'll come around sooner or later...but like said above I do believe that the Kobe talk is not helping the young team out at all...once Deng and Gordon get on the same page we should be fine...I'd just like to see Tyrus settle in nicely with the rest of the starters...b/c I believe he has way more potential then he's still showing

Should be a good game tonight.  O0

looks like the Ben Wallace era has come to an end today with and 11 player 3 team deal between the bulls, sonics and the cavilers. the bulls gave up wallace, adrian griffen and joe smith and got larry houges, drew gooden, cedric simmons and shannon brown in return. all in all i think this is a good move made by the bulls but something had to be done. look at it this way things couldnt get any worse.

We get 2 scorers which is obviously what we need.  Our offense has been horrible all year.  Ben Wallace was not what he was cracked up to be.  Losing him will open up more playing time for Noah who will hopefully develop his game.  If we can stay healthy the rest of the way we can still make the playoffs which just tells you how horrible the East is after the top 3 teams.

I'm going to the game tomorrow against Denver, hopefully we can start to defend our homecourt.

I watched Phoenix/LA last night which was very entertaining basketball.  My pick in the West is still the Spurs.  With Parker/Duncan/Ginobili all healthy, they have always been the team to beat.  They have 3 trophies to prove it.  After them I rank Phoenix/New Orleans/LA all a close 2nd.  Utah/Denver/Dallas/Portland all can't win on the road so they'll be packing their bags early come playoff time.  I think the playoffs are going to be very entertaining this year.

Celtics vs. Pistons in the East final should be fun to watch.  Either of them would have a chance in the Finals.  Everybody else in the East might as well be playing exhibition games.

As a Pistons fan, I know my opinions are going to come across as biased when it relates to other teams in the east. The thing that bothers me though is how Cleveland "magically" comes away with the biggest names in this trade AND an extra second round pick to top it off. I don't think the Cavs actually won the eastern conference last year and I find it very disappointing that the teams that get the most time on TV seem to be getting these magical trades (Gasol to LA, Marion/Shaq trade, Kidd to Dallas and now the strengthening of Cleveland). I am beginning to think more and more that the NBA is rigged and it's disappointing as a true fan.

I don't really think the Cavs or the Mavs got too much better with their trades, if not worse; and the Shaq for Marion trade is definitely To Be Determined as to whether or not that was a good move for the Suns.

Also, the teams that are on TV are the good teams with a chance this year, which are the teams that are going to trade for high salary players at the end of their contracts.

Taylor I understand your concern about the NBA and Lebron.  I think this is more about Wallace than about Lebron.  The rule of thumb is that you never let good players go to teams in your own division.  Detroit didn't sign him and he went to the Bulls. The Bulls traded him to Cleveland.  Detroit and finallly Chicago figured out that the fork has been sticking out of Wallace's hair like a pick for years.  He's done.

tacimala

I actually disagree about Ben Wallace. I think he's going to do a lot better in Cleveland than he did in Chicago. He'll never do better than those couple big seasons with the Pistons and when his career ends he will be remembered for that and that only most likely. I think that with the Cavs he will be able to utilize his strengths more often with more pressure being on the golden child and having another paint presence with Z will help as well. With the Bulls it was a lot of times only 4 good outside shooters and Ben Wallace and so that didn't play well for him because he is not a good offensive player. Just my thoughts.

The Bulls didn't get 50 wins, but they do have a legitimate shot at 50 losses. They are HORRIBLE.

Mike Clark

This thread should be locked just like the pathetic Bulls should be locked out of the Untied Center for the remainder of the year. Just kidding about the thread. By the way, I think McManus is being nice.

The glass is always half full. Can you say LOTTERY?  I am surprised the Illinois Lottery didn't start advertising on Bulls games this season. it seemed like a match made in...well made in the pigsty where this team plays.

Dan Michler

Yes it turned out Hinrich was a flash in the pan and Deng didn't step up as expected.  Without Ben Gordon next year I'm not sure how we are going to score any points.  I like Larry Hughes, but we still need a stud point guard and a scorer in the post.  Nothing wrong with Drew Gooden, but I'd prefer him coming off the bench.  Nocioni is still great coming off the bench as well.  Too many great sixth men on this team and not enough quality starters.

Next year's starting roster needs massive changes:
PG  I'm going to pray we do awesome in the lottery and draft Derrick Rose.
SG  Hughes
SF  Deng
PF  Gooden?
C  god we need a center.  Noah was a waste of a draft pick.

I'm not sold on Larry Hughes, as denoted by his history with the Cleaveland Cavaliers here:
http://HeyLarryHughesPleaseStopTakingSoManyBadShots.com/

I agree that they need someone that can be the point guard.  I figure start there and then work your way from there.

I don't know who's going to come back from the Bulls - I hope very few, but I don't know how they can turn an entire roster around.  I don't really want to see Hinrich or Gordon back.  Is Nocioni started to sound like another head case on the back half of this season - still bring him back?  Would Gordon be a better fit if he was strictly a shooting guard?

The only guys I'd like to continue to see would be Gooden and Deng.  Noah is still a question mark.  It wasn't really what they needed this year, but Noah was just one of their many problems.

I agree with Scott about Hughes.  As long as he thinks of himself as a scorer he will continue to suck.  He is very talented and takes bad shots amd makes poor choices. At some point he will realize he has pretty good size for a guard and like Ron Harper will metamorphazie into a defender late in his career.  Unfortunately, that will be after the Bulls pull the plug on him.  Gooden is a good backup 3/4 who is not ideal but is pretty good at both positions.  The Bulls thought they had the 4/5 of the future in Thomas.  He has tremendous talent and no brains.  He still has potential if there was a stable, teaching coaching staff and if he is willing to learn.  Otherwise, he is a sad bust who will make plenty of money but zero impact.  I disagree on Noah.  He has marginal talent but plays pretty smart and will be an effective backup 4/5 energy player on any team.  I would keep him  but would not count on him as a starter.  Deng is a good player and borderline all-star.  He is not a great player.  The Bulls have no great players.  Every winning team has at least one or two great ones.  The Bulls have zilch. Thomas could be one but is the poster child for this team.  Heinrich is an above average point guard who will do very well on a team with a good 2,3 and/or 4.  He would get a zillion assists.  Gordon is a luxery. He is a player who doesn't really have a position that should score in bunches off the bench for a winning team.  He is worth more to other teams than the Bulls. Same for Nocioni. They don't need him.  The Bulls really need a starting 4 and staring 5 as Thomas and Noah will not cut it as starters.  They need  a starting 2 as Hughes will not cut it. I would keep Heinrich and Deng to start at 1 and 3.  I think everybody else is expendible. More than anything, they need the right coach.  Also, this off season Paxon either works on an overhaul or he should be let go.

apparently my prayers were heard.  1.7% chance and we win the lottery.  go figure!  hopefully this #1 pick will turn out better than the Jason Williams pick.

Well tonights the night. Who will it be J.Rose or Beasley? Theres still ALOT of talk on Chicago sports radio about a possible trade with Miami for the 1st pick and we get D.Wade. I really hope that doesnt happen but the Bulls have done crazier things in the past.
