DISC GOLF ALLEY 2008 KICK OFF MEETING

When: Saturday, January 26th, 2008 @ 11 AM
Where: Shady Oaks Park, Streamwood, IL
Who: Anyone is invited to attend!
Why: Renew memberships, new memberships, find out what is going on with the club, add suggestions/recommendations for new club events, and to meet with friends!


Weather Permitting: We will first play a round of random draw best shot doubles at Streamwood's Shady Oaks Park at 11 AM.  I'd like to tee off at about 11:15.  I don't want a repeat of last year's frozen stiff Shady Oaks adventure playing in subzero weather.  I also want to make sure that all players that come out for the doubles are able to make it over for the meeting afterwards!  Right now the forecast is high of 30 with partly sunny.  I'll post on the 24th (Thursday) to confirm if we will play the doubles or not as I watch the changes in the weather forecast.  Cost to play is free, there will be some sort of prizes to the top 3 or so groups.

Meeting will be at 2PM: Following the round, we'll all head over to CiCi's Pizza in Streamwood (127 E Irving Park Blvd, just east of the intersection of Irving Park & Bartlett Rd).  I have not been to the CiCi's in Streamwood, but the CiCi's in Downer's Grove was $6.95 for their pizza buffet and a drink.  They will even make pizza's for specific tables and bring it the table.  It's a pretty cool deal.

Renewals: I don't know if we will have the bag tags in time for the meeting, but we will be accepting renewals for 2008 Disc Golf Alley memberships.  The cost for 2008 is only $10. The benefits for signing up: you receive a bag tag, invitations to club members only events, club supported weekly leagues, opportunities to expand disc golf in the area with a team of supporters, and you get to make a lot of new friends.  We had over 40 members in 2007.

no, I apologize, thanks for pointing that out.  Disc Golf Alley Renewals are $10.  They both start with DISC, so my brain interchanges them all of the stinking time!

REMINDER: Disc Golf Alley club kick-off meeting is this Saturday.  The weather report looks a lot better considering how cold it has been as of late.  Expect a little bit of snow (possibly some melting snow) and around 15-20mph winds.  Bring your towels to wipe off the discs and footwear to keep your feet warm.  I will have hand and toe warmers available at $2 a pair if anyone needs to keep extra warm.

Please arrive by 11AM for doubles so that we can get started by 11:15AM.

CiCi's Pizza Buffet and meeting will start at 2pm.  If there are items that you'd like to have added to the agenda, please email me and I'll consider it (I may already have the answer to your question as well).

What is the cost for first time members? I see where it says $10 for renewal and nothing about first timers. Or is the cost the same? $10
