2008 USADGC Qualifier--IOS #5 @ Rockford, IL

IOS #5 @ Rockford, IL will be an Advanced Amateur qualifier for the 2009 United States Amateur Disc Golf Championships in Milford, MI. You must play advanced at Rockford & finish in the top 20%. This is one of the best Amateur tournaments in the country played on the famous Toboggan course.

I played this tournament in the fall of 2005. This course is awesome with some major elevation. It is very demanding and very long. It is ran professionally and there are some fun games at the end of each day. There is free food at the tent all day as well. If you get the chance go play this event!

There have been quite a few others from our area attend over the past few years.

I have never played in the tournament but I am originally from Michigan and the normal course at Kensington was my home course. The Toboggan course is only set up for two weeks a year and it is absolutely awesome. I have never played a course with such elevation change. Great course. I hope to play in the tournament some day but even to play the course outside of the tournament is pretty cool.

Its definitely worth playing if you like a fair course that will kick your ass.

You can still qualify for 2008 at the Milwaukee Open if you are looking for a local tourney to qualify at.

I got qualifying out of the way at Rockford last summer.  This will be a good chance at Rockford to do the same again this year.

I qualified for last year and played last year.  I qualified at Rockford last year for this year and will probably play this year. 

This year I'm hoping to play the tournament 40 pounds lighter and with a butt full of steroids.  The course is awesome but if you have grass allergies you have to do whatever you have to do to keep your allergies under control because the pollen count is pretty high in Kensington Valley.  I could barely breathe last year.  There are banned performance enhancing steroids I can get legally for bad allergies.  I'm getting them. 

If I can get them timed well for the tournament, I'm in for speed golf!!!  Kiralyn, by the way, holds the Junior Girl record for Am Nationals Speed Golf.  She finished in the middle of the pack against the big boys last year. 

It is a great tournament for amenities.  A great player pack, the pre-tournament dinner, unending food at the course and sidegames make it a great value even if you are pool fodder. 

The course is 1000 rated at 54.  They call it par 62 or 63 or something like that.  It is an awesome course.
