Fun times both days with the weather and good course conditions.  Hole 18a was a good one this year.  I went OB on my 2nd shot in all 4 of my rounds.  You would think I'd be able to learn after the 1st 3 times.

Sunday results are up. http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7876&year=2008&includeRatings=1#Open%20Women

Thanks to everyone who came out to play and everyone that came out to help. We had a great time as always. The course looked great. Don't forget that the brass expires at the end of this year.

How windy was it up there on Sunday? I thought the scores on Saturday in general were a bit high, even for the pros, esp. considering it was practically dead calm. Looks like the rounds rated about 16 pts higher on Sunday.

Thanks again to Brett, the Brakels and the rest of the IOS staff for another well-run event. You've set a high standard for tournaments around here and your efforts ARE appreciated by many!!
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

Thanks for the great tourney, very well run.  Worth every bit of the 700 mile round trip. See ya @ IOS #2.

It was gusty and it was costing people strokes on putts on hole 8 and on OB on the holes by roads etc.

I know I shot 4's on 18A on Saturday and 5's on Sunday. It was definitely windier.

Thanks to the Brakels and all the volunteers for another well-run event.  Awesome job getting the scores up on the PDGA right away.  Mukey missed a great chance to beat me.  I still had fun, and it's great to finally be back on the course playing again.  Ben has decided that the "Schwinn" t-shirt is bad luck, and he's officially retiring it.  After he changed at the break, his  round rating changed by 100 points.

I thought the 700 mile round trip was worth it too.  We pulled in around 4:30 a.m. and I was in bed by 5:00.  The ride home was smooth sailing after we got off the Edens.  If you're willing to pay the $10, you pretty much have the Skyway all to yourself now-a-days.  Maybe it's $7 for the Lexuses and BMWs.  It's $10 if you pull a one-axle trailer.

UWParkside has [soon to be "had"] one of the best flat land courses I've ever seen.  I always enjoy that course even if I don't play so well sometimes.  [I think the scores reflect that the more responsibility you feel for a tournament, the worse you play at a tournament you are responsible for.]  We will have many fond memories of that course after it is ruined by campus expansion.

On behalf of the Waterford Junior Girls' Club, the Waterford Brakels would like to thank all the players and non-players who bought a disc for cash.  Nothing says thank you as much as when you pull out your wallet and spend $12 on an ESP or Z disc or a hat or t-shirt.

Thanks to everyone for running a spectacular tournament.  This was my first trip up to UW Parkside, and the course was just awesome.

Thanks to Jon for getting the scores up so quickly. Thanks to Serg for taking care of tags. Thanks to Serg and Dave  and all the other great staff and volunteers for getting Parkside in such great condition. Thanks to Brett for the alternate holes. 18A was great. Thanks to Bruce and the women for having so much great merchandise available.

It was a great two days, 181 players and a bunch of new DISContinuum Club Members. (Sorry about the high number Rob.)

Congrats to Scott Burtard for the open win and for back to back wins in one weekend.

Congrats to Schumann from going DFL at the Wisconsin Tour Warm Up to first at IOS #1.

Special thanks to Aaron and Dave for helping me out and to Mike Clark and Adrian Sr. for always lending a helping hand.

And thanks to Mike Krupicka. Mike has become an invaluable resource around tournament central and has now written this great spread sheet so that we can do payouts and tournament financials in a fraction of the time it used to take us.

Heck yeah. Sorry Mike. There are many people who make a difference in the outcome of the event.

Thanks everyone, it was fun and well run as usual. Got to play with a lot of cool people and beat a Schwinn. Mukey, you should have been there (especially with no Wham Bam this year).

Now if I ever learn to play, maybe I can hold it together for more than one round.

I thought the division splits worked out just fine. I never ran into any real backups at all on Saturday. Sunday had a backup from 18A through hole 2 or 3, but that probably had more to do with the wind than anything else.

Bruce Brakel

The half-in thing worked well, I thought, for the pros.  If those had been two trophy-onlys finishing above the cash line in Open, I doubt that the two pros below the cash line would have been there to collect.  After running the payouts Jon decided that 1/2-ins should be counted as 1/2 players for purposes of deciding how many to pay.  I agree for no-cash-added C-tiers.  It's just like how we count trophy-onlies as non-players for that purpose.
