I have heard that last year at this tournament the bugs were insane!  If this is true anybody have any tips, other than the obvious, of course.  ;D

All I remember from last year was a mosquito flying off with my friends volkswagon. Those things were as big as a helicopter. So my advice would be to bring a machete or pure DEET.

I like my Volkswagon, so I hope they leave it alone....

Just got back from Wal Mart and got my 99.7% Deet  ;D

I don't believe the Volkswagen part since things were fine at TC last year with a little Deep Woods Off applied twice during the day. Unless the Volkswagen was parked illegally in the woods!!  ;D

I put in my Innova order tonight.  They have been waiting to fill my next order so that they can ship it and then announce the release of the Pig and the Monarch.

It is not to late to get something on the list.  But after tomorrow it might be.

Quote from: stpitner
Bruce, I'm also going to place an order, but I can wait a little bit longer to see if I can snag some Pro Pig's or Champ Monarch's.  If I do get to order and receive it just in time for the tournament I'll bring some out for you.

woohoo, Super Shammy!  those things REALLY soak up water, will be very useful on those super wet days.

I had to place the Innova order in order to make sure I received stuff before next weekend - the Pig and Monarch are not available at this time, so I won't be able to hook you up with anything.  It should be available in plenty of time for Aurora though.

I've been working on dying discs after my rounds and before Lizard Games.  Just sitting there weeding stickers and masking discs I sell about one disc an hour.  Every time I sell a disc I walk over to the merch table and buy a disc.  So I now have three ESP Comets.  They will be $14 or 14 Brass.

I have two Pro D Zones, Am Nationals stamped.  This is a very overstable beadless mid with the look of an XD.

Another special item I picked up today was a clear red 150 T-Bird in that really grippy candy plastic.

Well, lookee here.  In between running back and forth to Am Nats my Innova order showed up.  I left it up to Zeb how much CFR to send me.  We've got about 20 each of CFR Destroyers and TRexXs available with the Crystal Cruise stamp on it.  The Crystal Cruise stamp this year is slightly more terrestial than last year's Romulan Warbird Cruiser.  This year it's a PT Cruiser!

We're selling these cash only to raise money for Rockford lunches.

The new fly pads at Lippold are nice.  The tees are much more level, especially on holes 5 and 6.  Brett, will we be playing from all of the fly pads?  Hole 4 has a fly pad that is about 40 feet up from the usual tournament tee.  Otherwise, The fly pads are pretty much in tournament settings.

Yes, All tees will be fly pads except #4. We will play from the old tee area which is dirt/wood chips.

What about 18?  Is the fly pad in the casual location 30 feet from the 17 basket or in the tournament location?

Got out to Crystal Lake this morning.

I did not get bit once by skeeters.

Fly Pads are nice. They did a good job of leveling them. The only disappointments I had were holes 7 & 9. There was an opportunity to lenghten both of them. #7 would have made a tougher slight hyzer angle and moved the tee pad away from that tree right off the left corner of the pad. Moving #9 back and center could have opened up a double fairway.

There is some water on the course but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The only place the water really affected play was around the basket of #5. I'll bring an extra basket next weekend in case the water is still high. It will be placed on one of the tree stumps to the right if that water is still there. Extended forecast is calling for a fairly dry week.

Hole #19. There is some fairly deep water to the left of the pin.
Hole #20. Do not throw in the tall grass. (3 minutes to locate disc).
Hole #21. You will have to throw across the water to the basket. There are bail out areas to the left or right. If the weather is good the basket will be moved farther basket to a more elevated area.
Hole #22. Rope OB.

A couple more special merch items:

I have a Buzzz SS.  You can only get these as Am Nats, Memorial and Players' Cup discs.  $16
FLX Drone.  These are now a $20 Players' Cup fund raiser disc.  Factory misprint double stamp.  $16.
169 gram Z Storm.  This is the opaque soft "Z" plastic that Innova reinvented a few years later as Star and the Discraft copied and called ESP.  It might already be sold to a collector.  I have a standing request fior these.  If anyone wants second dibs, let me know.

Kira has one.  I'll see if it is available.  She kept some of her loot and sold the rest to me.

Update: Kira says $8, cash only.  It is as flat as Kansas.

Looks like awesome weather all week long will be drying out the course.  Nothing like five days of sunny and breezy!
