What is best course in Joliet area? PLEASE HELP!!

Hi I am planning a trip on Friday with my brother and a friend of mine. We are heading out to Joliet area because we hear they have some good courses. We live in Aurora and mostly play Jericho Lake in Aurora and thats about it. Can anybody point me into the right direction as far as the best course(s) to play out in Joliet area? I would really appreciate it. We are all pretty good, not pros or anything but we like challenging courses. Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks - Steve

I think Mokena is one of the better courses down there if not the best in the Joliet area. To get directions and a course description go to PDGA.com and click on course directory in the upper nav bar.

If you live in Aurora you are only about 5 miles from Eagle Ridge Course in Oswego. It's in great condition right now and it is a pretty good challenge. Don't get me wrong I love the courses in Joliet but if you are only 5 miles away just give it a try. There's 18 holes now with some good wooded holes.

West Park, Mokena and Channahon are all pretty good.

Mokena may give you decent rain coverage if you're still going.

West Park have nice elevation changes, not many long holes though.

Channy is REALLY nice now, only thing missing there is elevation change

Channahon will be the driest of the 3 that Mukey listed.  Mokena is nice but it stays wet a lot longer than Channy.

So long as the baskets are still in, I think the most challenging and best course in J-town is Lockport.  The long tees are especially fun.
Other than that, Channahon is the best.
Don't play Mokena without any locals present!  The course layout is such a cluster-f*** you will be spending the majority of your time trying to figure out where to go next.

Mokena is realtively easy to follow and is well kept up. Just use a map.

the only problem with Mokena, is the walk from the woods to the middle of the park crossing a few holes in the process.  There's no sign to tell you where 22 starts and that its no where near where you just finished hole 21

hey man, I'm from Aurora too, and if you're going to make a whole day of disc down there this is what I like to do:  Take 59 or County Line Rd south to Shorewood and start at the little course at that park off of 59, near the I55 exit.  Then work your way west.  Play Shorewood, Channahon, West Park, and Mokena in that order.  And like someone else said use the course directory for directions.  You can also stop at Oswego on the way to of back.  If you leave early and play 1 round at each course, you'll be back around dinnertime.  I Highly recommend it.
