I don't think he'd wait just to sit out training camp. Has been back-up QBs don't really have to do much during training camp. Up and comer back-up QBs have to put on a show but Farve could just put a knee brace on and take it easy. He'd have to play during the pre-season games but presumably that is what he likes.

Where did McMahon go to sit on the bench after the Bears released him?

Just 3 random stories I found in a minute supporting that Favre hates training camp and wanted to avoid it.  I haven't personally spoken with him, but it seems hard to deny these reports after he suddenly decides 3 days after camp that his body is healed.  But he never lies so just take his word for it.

I believe it without clicking on anything. I didn't do any research...I just figured that a guy that old would know how to avoid doing any real training at training camp if he was motivated properly. Maybe he isn't as smart as he looks?

I like watching Favre play QB and wish he was with the Bears all those years he was with the Packers.

I am not excited to see him playing for the Vikings. If he's healthy the Vikings are the favorites to win the NFC North. I actually think he'll help my #1 draft pick in fantasy.

He took a terrible 2007 Jets team 4-12 to 9-7 last year. I believe if he was healthy for the 2nd half of the year the Jets would have made the playoffs.

Part of me wants to see Favre win a Super Bowl with the Vikings so that he'll retire with as many championships with the Vikings as he had with the Packers.

Another part of me wants to see him embarass himself with more performances like he had down the stretch last year with the Jets.

As a Bears fan, I feel like I've already won, which is important heading into a season where the Bears might not actually win that many games.

...actually, I'd forgotten how many places he actually went (other than SD and ending up @ GB - he technically played less than half his career with the Bears), but then again I haven't paid a lot of attention to football since Payton retired....

McMahon just didn't have a body made for a 16 game season plus playoffs. You see it looking at his career starts. After playing as starting QB for the Bears for a few years he was too banged up to even play a half season. He really had two careers. One with the Bears as the starting QB and one as a traveling backup QB. He was solid in both roles.

My point with bringing up McMahon though was that if Farve hadn't been such a whiny little bitch and just played for the Packers until they didn't want him anymore instead of crying about retiring and then crying when he decided he wanted to come back, then people wouldn't even remember in a few years that he ever played for anyone other than the Packers.

Favre signing with Vikings= Bad news for you Bears Fans!!
Cutler wouldn't have made that much of a difference anyway with NO WR's to throw the ball to!

The over under for Favre getting knocked out should be about 3 games.
That seems like a ton of money for a person with a torn cuff on the throwing shoulder.
The owner must be gay for Brett.

I don't think it will be that big, it's more bad news for packers fans actually, the unfaithful Farve. We will see if any WRs step it up this year. Vikings will be throwing lots of picks that's for sure.

all you bears fans think that just the packers have to deal with him this year. but wait dont the bears play the vikings in two games this year to.so it looks like the bears will also be 0-2 against farve, after 17 yrs of gettin pounded by farve.

As a Packer fan and a Favre fan, more power to him.  I am not sure what the Packer fans have to be upset about, the Packers decided to move on without Favre.  Minnesota seems to be the best fit for him.  I could certainly do without the theatrics, but I guess that is part of his make up that made him so exciting for so many years.  Hopefully it will work out for him, it seems to have worked out for the Packers.  Time will tell on Aaron Rogers. He needs to perform better in the fourth quarter, but overall for a first year started his statistics were outstanding. I am hoping the Packers play better defense this year.

The Bears still suck.

The Packer fans I talked to said they would not have been as upset had he said I want to come back to any team that wants me.  Then if the Vikings out bid everyone that would be ok. But he specifically wanted to play for the Vikings to get back at the Packers for some reason I don't know or understand not being a Packer fan.  I just can't wait to have AP go down for a couple weeks with a leg injury then watch Favre realize that he is too old for this game and can't control it as he used to. I think we will see what happened when he was with the Jets, great first half, then father time shows up and he can't compete.  Also, he seems to be a marked man in the NFC North, a lot of players are salivating to knock him on his back.  This definitely makes the NFC North one of the top divisions in regards to QBs, should be fun to watch but I think the North will come down to the Pack and the Bears still.  I mean, really who is Favre going to throw to? Berrian? If he decides to try?  AP can't do it all on his own. Neither can Favre.

Minnesota has 2 great lines, running back, recievers, and a pretty good secondary. They win the division easily. Bears can't cover a man hole!  Bears defense is in for a long year. Favre knows he has a good O line. He will play well until that one hit to the throwing shoulder knocks him out. Their line could make Rex Grossman look good. I hope I'm wrong!

I think the Vikings will come out hot now that they have Favre, win early, but I think they will use up all their energy by the middle of the season trying to come out so fast.  Doesn't the NFL still have cases against the "Williams Twins" that they keep pushing back punishment?  They could be suspended for a few games which could really hurt in the long run. Also, remember when when the Vikings were the best team in football a few years ago and they lost in the first round? I could totally see this team following suit.

Since 2005, brett favavare and the rest of the stinky cheeseheads are 2-6 against DA Bears...look it up.  did you stop watching the fudge packers after the 2004 season?

I'm interested to see what its like when he goes back to play in Green Bay later this year.  There are a large number of fans that really want to see his head get knocked off!

Personally I feel that any fan that wants to see Farve get hurt is not a fan of football...  I hope he does well and look forward to watching what unfolds this season.. On the bonus side of things it is easier to get tickets for a game in MN then it is for a bears or gb game..

Brett has family in MN and WI... U think that may be a reason he wants to play in the midwest?  or the indoor stadium? he is a southern hick after all.
