I've been working (with the help of Dan Nagle, Brett and Rob Strauser) on desiging a course in Pontiac.  As long as I can get the PFC temp baskets, we are going to have the course available on Saturday, September 20th.  I will post more info as it becomes available.  The course is split between Chautuaqua Park and Play Park.

"Chautauqua Park"
1. 260
2. 270/371
3. 256/335 ----long basket 571 (Long basket par 4)
4. 248
5. 328
6. 220/266
7. 280
8. 230
9. 250/305
10.270/430 (Long tee par 4)
11.235/290

"Play Park" (cross Vermillion River)
12. 330
13. 350/500 (Long tee par 4)
14. 200
15. 450 (par 4)
16. 260
17. 217/260
18. 338/535 (Long tee par 4) Toughest par 4 on course.

The 11 holes on Chautauqa side are more about throwing straight with low ceilings and getting birdies. 12-16 are in Play park and more of a grip and rip with a higher ceiling to work with. Hole 17 throws across the river from Play into Chautauqua. 18 short plays in Chautuaqua while the long tee starts in Play and goes into a landing zone on the Chautauqua side.

The Vermillion River splits up the two parks.  "Swinging bridges" connect one park to the other.  Very unique.  The terrain in Chautuaqua is similiar to the front/top 9 at Bradley or Janesville, WI esque...The short tee's are recreational, but do offer some good challenge.  There is a pretty good mix of right/left/straight shots with a few holes that have multiple options off the tee.

The main thing that is missing is some good elevation changes.  With that said, we have used what little elevation the park(s) offer.

I cannot wait to play it. It will be a good addition off I55.

Saturday, September 20th we will have the PFC temp baskets for the day!

Free clinic- 11
Doubles- 2

I'll post directions and more info soon.  The more people that show, the better chance this course will become permanent in the future.  As Brett mentioned, it will be a good addition off of I-55.

Won't be able to put the temp baskets in this weekend.  I will look to re-schedule, maybe later next month.  Maybe even November...

Please pass this information along...

Thanks,

Dana

Saturday is a no go, please spread the word at your local leagues...A good amount of fliers were handed out at Rockford.  I would hate to see someone show up.

Thanks,

Dana
