Answering the first question before it is asked, the pages are in the proper order for printing it double sided and then assembling it as a booklet.  It looks really nice printed out and assembled as a book.

They WILL NOT be. All tee signs will have distance, par, & ob information on them. I want to make sure all the info is accurate and there may be some minor tweaks made to the course as we install each hole. I did not want to guess at distances or alter a hole and have the wrong par listed.

one thought I had while making that page is that if someone walks the course once it is all setup, the blanks are there so that they can fill out the numbers as they go along.  Maybe I'll volunteer myself to help handwrite in the numbers on the extra copies of the handbooks once the official numbers are in (can you say hand-cramp???)

Actually - I made it in Visio, and thanks   I used Visio because that's where I have the template for my other handbooks that I made in the past where I made hole by hole descriptions.  It works nice for laying out a landscape type look.  A couple fonts didn't translate over into the pdf, but oh well I guess!

For those of you printing with a printer that can do double sided - as long as your settings are similar to mine, set the page orientation to landscape and flip on short side.  It should print out nicely

I'll be there Friday afternoon and would be happy to help with this. I had a chance to play the east/west courses on Monday. I may do a walk through of the temp course. Don't know how much I'll play on Friday so I'll have some extra time to help if the booklets are at the course.

minor tweaks made to the handbook - download from the same link again if you want the latest and greatest.

Changes made:
1) A couple fonts did not transfer over, recreated the PDF to make sure that the proper fonts were used on a couple of the pages.
2) For both the east and west course there are now spots to write down two rounds worth of scoring.  While everyone will not play both east and west twice, every pool will play one or the other twice.  Everybody only plays the temp course once, so there's only one spot to write your scores.

Brett normally handles course routing issues.  He worked on the book with Pitner and Krupicka.  If the book says ignore that sign and does not indicate a mando or anything, I'd say you can play through that woods if you want.  Brett has not asked me to bring any yellow rope, so I don't think we making an o.b. area in there.

The sign is just ahead and to the right of 14#'s tee. Its an old school sign for OB by the woods around which we need to wind to get to the basket. Thus, the woods are not out of bounds, they are just trecherous.   There is indeed a path through the woods about 180 ft ahead of the tee.  The OB sign, always seemed like a non-sequitar as there are similar wooded areas all over the course that have no sign.

How easy of a 3 is it to go through the woods?  What kind of shot does it take to get you in for the 3?

It's not too bad to get a 3 by just placing it straight out ahead (it's maybe 220 to the gap?).  If you make it to the opening you'll have a straight approach at the basket and an easy 3.  It's played as a par 4 officially, but if you place your first shot you shouldn't have too many problems at a 3.

If you have a good lefty or forehand shot, you should be able to get it at least to the opening if not even further in, and you'll at least have a run at a 2, although for me I think I'm going to try to play it smart and lay up for 3
