What is everyone's preferred brand of discs and why?  Cause it seems like the only discs I can find anywhere in Grayslake are Innova and Quest.  What are the thoughts on those, and how about other types of discs?

I like the Buzz for midrange shots and Innova for drivers. A lot of people throw Gateway putters.  Everyone has got there own thing.  Often times it is regional depending on where the discs are manufactured.  See what the top players are using and try what they use, or listen to their suggestions.

Some people like to have the newest of everything.  Find something that works for you and use it.

Best overall selection - Innova
Best putter selection - Gateway
Right in between - Discraft

Tom is very accurate in his statements.  Innova you'll find to be most common because that's the truth - it's the most common brand.  Most of my own sales are Innova.  It can be a daunting task to look at all the different companies making discs trying to tell you to buy one thing or another.  Try out a few different ones, see if you like any of those, work with them a little bit because you never know what might wind up working well, and see what fits.  I've found that after I have played for a while, some of the discs that I set to the side because I didn't like them I now have in my bag and love!

I throw DGA drivers, mostly, and Discraft mids and putters.  There is one Innova driver that might be going into my bag soon.

I mostly just throw what's the least expensive, which is Discraft and DGA for the way I buy it.  But if I find something that's more expensive that Discraft doesn't make, I'm going to go with what works.

And, if you're buying your discs in stores you're paying way too much.  You should buy your discs at leagues and tournaments from the tournament players who are getting them at tournaments.

A lot of tournament players are selling Z and ESP for $8 to $10.  You can't touch that in stores.

I just started putting with Wizards a few weeks ago. I also throw one as a short range driver off the tee and for hyzer and head win approaches.
I have a beat Aviar for upshots and short tee shots.

Prior to Worlds Dan gave me a Z Buzzz. I've been throwing it for a stable mid range and it has some great glide. I still throw a Roc for straight & turnover shots. The Z Wasp is in the bag as well for windy days and hyzer mid range shots.

All of my drivers are Innova. Valkyrie, Firebird, Eagle, Orc, Destroyer.

Fox Metro Discer

My main drivers are from Innova. I like the discs with the really wide rims.
My mid ranges are from Dsicraft. I love the line that the Buzzz gives you, put it on that line and that is where it goes. You do not have to wear it in like with a Roc, it is good to go out of the bag.
My putters are 2 aviar putt and approaches, one word.... MONEY!
However I have seen some sick sticks with those Gateway SSS wizards.

Tom said it best, though, go with what works for you, everyone likes something different.
I would just make sure the disc feels comfortable in your hand first.

The Glide should really never become a disc that is thrown very often, but I've found that when I throw it, I have good results for the shots I throw it with. Very nice utility disc to have and you are now the third person I know that has touched one.

I totally agree. It just one of those discs that can come in handy, and if used right, it will net some good results.

Im experimenting a lot right now with all sorts of discraft drivers. When I was up at Justin trails, I saw a lot
of peeps throwing ESP Predators so i grabbed a couple to try out too. Im hoping I can get out tomorrow, little soggy today. I've really been diggin the Z tracker...that thing is such a wicked control driver.

I really don't think anyone should be telling anyone which discs they should or should not be throwing. Everyone is different in their throwing styles and in their mechanics. Throw what YOU like and what works for YOU. :(

i will sponsor you if you can throw only a glide and cash in open.

I throw a healthy mix of all three "major" brands. Right now I'm carrying:

8 Innova (2 Firebirds, 1 Teebird, 1 Eagle, 2 Leopards, 1 Gator, 1 Beat Roc)
6 Discraft (3 Flashes, 3 Buzzz's)
3 Gateway (Wizards)

I play around with different setups, but the Teebirds, Leopards, Buzzz's and Wizards will always be in the bag. So I'll always throw a mix.

Generally speaking, I think:

Innova has the best drivers
Discraft has the best midranges
Gateway has the best putters

ditto

Innova's apparel sux (their stitching always seems to unravel after a few washes)
Discraft has the adjustable hat & medium size shirts
And of course Revolution bags all the way

I'm going to have to agree with Bruce on this one:
"throw what's the least expensive"

My Revo bag: used
My Discraft discs: probably purchased through the "Throw Discraft/DGA" player pack from an IOS

I, too, carry Innova and Discraft.
Drivers: Innova
Midrange: Discraft
Putters: Avaiars/Zone
