OK, WAAAAAYYY off topic, but that's what shoot the breeze is for, right?

I have an XP laptop that I support that keeps getting random icons in the quick launch. They still open the right application, but like the icon for Word link will have an acrobat icon. If I disable quick launch and then reenable it, the correct icons are restored. However, next reboot, they'll have the wrong icons again. Haven't been able to find any documentation on the problem from Microsoft. Anyone run into this before?

No, but try redoing your profile... I've seen a lot of profile problems manifest itself in general weirdness.

Just log out, log in as administrator, rename your profile directory located under C:\Documents and Settings\ (rename so if it doesn't fix it you can go back) and log back in as yourself.

The downside to this is that IE Favorites, saved passwords, basically anything that is connected to your userID will have to be recreated (or transfered from your old profile dir such as the case with Favorites).
Don't forget your towel!
