Quotenot to them it didnt, cuz they said they would beat the score of any person that played the short tees that day. they were proven wrong!

well thats just silly on thier part cause that is a course that the long and short tees play very different.  congrats on your win by the way.

I think part of the problem with the am divisions is that there are too many of them.  if you have just two am divisions then you would have larger fields, which means bigger and deeper payouts.  it would also make for more competion,  you would have to play better and develop your game more if you wanted to cash.

ok im done drifting now

I received 3 out of 4, not sure when I received my renewal package.  I finally received some stuff for tournaments (rule books, PDGA soft cards, other printed materials and pamphlets) in mid-October? something like that.  Yes!  I could still use it for one tournament! *sigh*

Maybe 2009 would be better - but they seriously need more help in that office if they want to truly increase and improve.

I received all of my TD packs except for Rockford. You'd think they'd make sure they got the TD pack to the TD for an A tier!

So Flying Disc Magazine is allegedly in bookstores now and their goal is to "Sell Them All" with our support so they can show newstand vendors that there is a demand for the publication.  I'm trying to figure out whether I care.  Here is a list of their Illinois Barnes and Noble outlets:

Boooo Flying Disc Magazine. Even after corresponding with Brian Graham and receiving my two missing issues. I still never received all my issues. If they can't produce a magazine on time, let alone a quality magazine, and distribute it properly nobody should buy it. If you want to learn about disc golf, keep up on product updates, and better your game  go to www.discgolfreview.com. Don't wait for a magazine to never show up and when it does you get to read about people's vacations and dog Frisbees. Booo. Jason

How many magazines were we supposed to get last year?  I think I only got 2?
Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

I received 5. The PDGA and FDM agreed to can the last issue (FDM was not paid for #6).

Unless the magazine is a lot better than it was this past year I will not be supporting it. I think it is kinda backwards that they are going to try to publish a commercial magazine when they could not even keep up with the in house PDGA magazine. To me it would be easier to publish the in house magazine.

I do not understand why we did not receive the 6th magazine. Didn't we pay for it? I do not care what agreement FDM and The PDGA have. I had an agreement to receive 6 magazines. Bimonthly for 1 year=6. So I should either get my magazine or a refund.

At least PGDA Media is putting out some good quality videos lately. Hopefully the new magazine will be a nice.

I wonder if they had any money issues - promises of x number of subscribers, but then the PDGA probably had a lot more people opt-out than they expected, and suddenly the expected money drops off leading to stuff unable to be done on time.  If FDM can get a committed number of subscriptions (I noticed that I can even order these wholesale through Innova), they have an easier time producing these with a slightly more guaranteed cash flow (plus it's probably cheaper to ship a bunch of copies to a single distribution place as opposed to dealing with all of the individual mailings).

I might order the current issue through Innova, see if it has improved, and then decide where to go from there.

I think it is kind of backward that they are trying to start a general circulation magazine at a time when the internet is putting general circulation print media out of business.  Kind of like going into the buggy whip business in the 1920s.

I think it's good to get the magazine in general circulation because it adds credibility, regardless of the decline of printed materials. I still thank that FDM is a poorly run business, but I wish them luck and hope that it helps us. There are thousands of disc golf websites out there, but even if everything is turning to the web, not more than a handful of those involved with the websites know how to properly get them in front of the masses. This is a good step at least.
