OK, here's a new category for those of us who are:

-bored because we never log off this board

-love music

-enjoy challenges

So here's a quiz:

1. Name the song and artist this line comes from:

"...all the pigeons gonna run to him"

2. "Hold Your Head Up".  Name the group and year of release.

3. How old were the Beastie Boyz when their first album went platinum? Both, please.

4. Name the Beatles' first manager.

5. The song "Autobahn" is by what group?

6. Who wrote most of Elton John's lyrics?

(no, "Chef" is not the correct answer)

7. True or False:  The original theme song from "Shaft" was released by Isaiah Hayes.

8. True or False: Debbie Gibson and Tiffany actually had a jello-wrestling fight to promote their album of duets.

9.  Who wrote the song "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant With My Two-Headed Love Child"?

10. Who is the most funkadellic person currently riding this planet?

If someone actually gets all these correct (yes, some are tricky), I will give them a disc worth at least $12.

Josh:

Fabulous job!  Holy cats!

You got 10 out of 10!

Although....

question #5's correct answer (that I had in mind) was Kraftwerk's version from the early 80's ("fun, fun, fun on the Autobahn" 50 times over).

After doing some research, I found that Amberlin is also correct. Never heard of 'em. They have a slick sound!

Nonetheless, you win!

Choose your disc!

(Crap, I didn't think it would be THAT fast!) ;)

jim

aw maaaaaan

it was supposed to be a 'real knowledge' / experience type of thang.

ok

the next quiz will make your heads spin

C'mon - you guys are either chicken or musically stunted. pwok, pwok!

jim

Now THAT'S funny!

Pat, you scored 4 out of 10, and Damon's was just plain silly. Pretty good considering how obscure some of this crap is.

Anyone else?

Just wanted to see if I could find all the answers before I left work, and wouldn't you know it, a co-worker asked me an in-depth work related question and almost ruined it!
