When I went to Vegas last year I brought them on as a carry on. They did pull my bag to the side to check and see what they were becouse im guessing the looked kinda funny on there xray machine, but they let me right on the plane no problem.

I have traveled with discs in carry on bags several times.  They have always asked to open it up to examine the "big circles" in my bag.  After seeing that they are simply plastic discs, no problem.  May be better to lay them out separate for inspection and avoid them looking thru everything else in the carry on ???

Make sure you empty out any accessories that you cannot take on an airplane, like your pen knife or knitting needles.

Vibram Disc Golf, Ledgestone Insurance, Paragon and Whirld Sports are all cool. Real cool.

On the way to the USDGC in 2005 I carried on my disc golf bag both ways. The bag was checked both ways. I didn't realize until I got home that my Swiss Army Knife was inside.

Yes. You can take your discs on the plane with you. I travel nearly every week for work and take some plastic with me. They make some some very interesting discussions at times. Have fun.

One time the inspector asked Becky if she had plates packed in her bag!

Yup, I had a similar plate comment last time I flew. Make sure to clean out your bag of dirt, debris, and anything else an intelligent traveler wouldn't bring in an airport. My bag gets a separate hand inspection about 50% of the time. Its kinda fun walking thru the airport with the bag on my back... sometimes I leave the cover open so ppl can see the plastic inside. A disc bag also makes a good water bottle carrier for in the airport.
Last tip - bring a few extra minis for any interested kids you may encounter. Its always fun to give some away.

You can bring them on-board but you will probably get searched.  I have been searched everytime because the discs look suspicious on the scanner.

I am pretty sure that you are the suspicious looking one Larry and not the discs.

I've only done it twice and the guy monitoring the X-ray machine guessed they were frisbees and did not search the bag on the way to AZ, on the way back they simply said nothing.
