Moraine is AWESOME.  Probably one of the best courses I've ever played.

I had a USDGC spot in my sights but my 4th round was pretty poor.

Moraine is sweet indeed. I was out there on Wednesday. I hit up Deer Lakes, Knob Hill, and Schenley on Thursday, then IUP on Friday. Did you guys play Deer Lakes? I like it even better than Moraine, but they're both fantastic courses. I wish I knew you were there, I would've played a round with you.

Am I retarded? (Wait, don't answer that.) Avery, Bennett, Barry, Schick, and Horne already qualified. How did you not get a spot?

I agree with Jack on that one.  Top 5 players qualify, excluding those who have already qualified.  The top 5 in the tournament are listed on the USDGC website's list of eligible competitors.  Dana is ranked 4th among players who are not on the list.  It would seem you earned your invitation in Pittsburgh.

Looking at the thread on the PDGA site it looks like some went to masters or grandmasters players that had better overall scores. Kind of cheesy, but that's how they have been doing it.

Wow, thats a terrible decision in my opinion.  A player should have to choose between going for 'easy money' in the Masters field or attempting to gain a qualifying spot by playing with the big boys.  You can't logically give them the best of both worlds like that when they weren't even competing in the same field.  Or maybe someone just really wanted Joe Mela and Al Schack to earn their spots.....

If there were other divisions offered at USDGC, then I could understand, but I agree with you based on that same logic. Dana may have been in a better position to know what to do in the final round had it been otherwise. Good shooting either way buddy!

Great work, Dana. Keep it up this weekend.
I haven't played Maple Hill since the ice storm and changes that have been made but had a great time at the course two years ago. Looking forward to the coverage.

As for the USDGC qualifying, take a look here: Qualifying Document
Looks like it's the top scores, as long as everyone plays the same layout and days.
