so wow - my Homie ratings were higher than the preliminary results (very surprised and pleased they got the results turned in for the ratings update), and while only having 2 rounds above what my new rating is, I managed to get myself out of the novice division with a new rating of 850, plus 21 points, yikes!  It's my highest official rating I've ever had lol.  Hope I can keep that rating up there after playing this weekend!

Kelsey is now the 8th highest rated female in the world.

Kelsey is hiding out in the Advanced division beating all those men. How dare she play where the competition is tougher? I would love to see her become the top rated woman in the world and still be an Am.

Nice! Doesn't it seem like there's something wrong with the PDGA ranking process though when someone with that high of a rating doesn't wind up on the top ranking list?

Not really.  Why even have a World Ranking system if player rating is going to be the only consideration?  I think Kelsey is a great player, but if she is to be ranked relative to the best women players in the world, she should have to compete against those women at premier events.

It is cool to see both Kelsey and Kira on the top 10 list for highest ratings amongst Am Women.  I don't know if they have both been top 10 for a while or not, but good job, ladies :)

I agree that they should not be the same as ratings, but I think I've seen other sports that are able rank qualified amateurs with their pros. Finishing 89th at Worlds in Advanced Men gave Kelsey better competition than any of the pro women have seen all season. They aren't really ranking the players by performance but rather assigning them points gained at top events. Its little more than any series points for any other disc golf series. To call it ranking, I think, is misleading.

If my calculations are correct, Kelsey goes up to 956 tomorrow.  Of course I didn't use a calculator or anything!   Assuming they submitted the Am Nats results in time, which they did not.   :dark1:
