I was watching Jeopardy the other day. The players were very smart and were doing very well. None of them got this question correct.  I thought to myself, "Hey, I know the answer to that. its...."

I do not remember the exact wording of the questions but here is what I can recall-
A plane is taking off from an aircraft carrier.  If it needs to get airborne in a shorter distance.  This will help acheive the necessary lift.

Answer in the form of a question. Don't do a Google search and remember my clue that disc golf makes you smarter. I will post the answer tomorrow.

Steer the ship into the wind to increase relative airspeed.

what is a pulley system?  I've been on one before and that's what they used to help the jets get airborne faster.  I don't know if that's the answer they were looking for, but it was cool walking on those ships - I was able to walk on an aircraft carrier and a submarine (those little doors on subs are annoying!)

thread drift - but I asked my mom where we went, and found the place.  We went back in 1994, but it's still there and seemingly going well.  It's Patriots Point Maritime Museum where you can tour the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and some other ships.  Awesome stuff!

Countchunkula had it but not in the form of a question....Alex Trebek responded, "What is headwind?"

Anybody who has ever putted into a stiff breeze has experienced quick lift.
