This is pretty interesting to me. I would like to know what other people think.

Has there been talk of this? If not them I would love to see Missouri or Pitt join.

I thought it was the BIG 10?  This will now put 12 teams in the conference?  ;D
The Big 10 already sends at least 5 teams to the big dance in March. I don't think this benefits Texas in any way.  I think the competition in the Big 10 is tougher than the Big 12 or whatever Texas plays in now. So probably going to be a rough & tough several years to adjust if they do get moved.

Nebraska is joining the Big 10 unofficially.  This doesn't really have a huge impact on my Illini right now.  Nebraska has a football program, but the Illini do not, so thats not really going to be a new rivalry.  The Illini have a basketball program, but Nebraska does not, so no new rivalry there either.  It'll be interesting to see if this opens the gateway for massive changes though.

I would like to see Nebraska in the Big 10, and if there is a choice between ND and Texas I would prefer ND.  The article on yahoo also mentioned Rutgers and Maryland as possible teams joining the Big 10.

ESPN was reporting that the Big 12 is most likely dissolving.  Missouri will join the Big 10 with Nebraska and the rest are up for grabs between the SEC and Pac-10 and perhaps some other mid-major conferences.

In other college sports news, sanctions coming tomorrow on USC football for Reggie Bush's family taking cash/gifts during his time there.  Coincidentally, Pete Carroll conveniently bolted for the Seahawks this offseason!!  Classy move Pete!

Yea I was talking about that this weekend as well with the USC situation. Very classy act and it seems to be going that way with bigger name coaches as they move around (Rich Rodriguez although that was after he moved). Hopefully not the case with Izzo if he does go to stinkland, but I doubt that would be the case.

Todays Peoria Journal Star sports page has an article saying Texas will NOT join the Big 10

The question was whether they would join the Pac-10, and yes, the answer turned out to be no.  The Peoria Journal Star was a day behind the action there.  I guess thats why nobody reads newspapers anymore.

I love that the Big 10 now has 12 teams and the Big 12 has 10 teams.  I think this is one of the Signs of the Apocalypse.
