Hey Dana - if we don't have the option of using carts, will less money be taken out for the course usage fees then? Not too worried about it, just a thought I had after reading some of the commentary.

Good question Taylor- There will be no partial refund on the course fees if we can't use carts.  We got a pretty good deal from Pine Hills, where they were pretty much letting us use the carts for 'renting' the course.

FWIIW--A walking round of 9 holes of golf at Pine Hills costs $15.

made a few tweeks and dropped par to 63 (i think). lost the par 5 #3.  also changed 2 holes from 4s to 3s. 

longest hole is 1236 ft, par 6.  I 5'd it yesterday, threw a buzzz twice, destroyer twice and a drop in putt.  it felt good.  i almost made the hole harder cause it felt too easy. 
shortest is 237

5 holes under 300
6 holes 300-500
7 holes over 500

just played the course in steady 25 mph winds with some nasty gusts....yikes. 

my thoughts-
hole 1 needs to be lengthened par 4
hole 2 tricky shot, favors righty
hole 3 neat looking teeshot, framed up by newly planted pines.  par 4
hole 4 sweet shot with creek on left and behind basket. favors lefty
hole 5 par 6, disgusting.
hole 6 multiple route shorty, like 270 downhill, plays shorter than that
hole 7 basket on stump, another 270ish and downhill. favors lefty
hole 8 tough par 4.  cant see basket from tee
hole 9 basket in sand trap (sand trap on this hole is in bounds). right next to golf green, big drop off.  good elevation.
front 9 par- 33

hole 10 nice par 3, can get in trouble if you come up short right.  favors lefty
hole 11 short, low ceiling par 3. drop off deep of basket
hole 12 350ish par 3, nice looking shot
hole 13 basket in sand trap, sand traps on this hole are in bounds.  basket right behind green. tough par 4
hole 14 straight shot par 3, elevation change. basket on small mound.  there is a tight righty hyzer line
hole 15 grip and trip tee shot, basket near small pond and green. par 4
hole 16 might push 16 back into a beautiful par 4.  right now, its a pretty nice looking par 3.
hole 17 = great risk reward.  very fun hole.  need to be able to throw about 315-330 to clear the creek.

back 9 par- 30 or 31

i'll have a 50/50 ctp, with the raised funds going towards staff/volunteer lunches

its looking like the course will be available to play friday, im heading out there now to get the final ok (and cost).

Hole 1 667 Ft, Par 4
OB- On or over road, gravel parking lot.  Follow road to hole 2.
Hole 2 246 Ft, Par 3
OB- On or over road. Hole 3 is in the row of Pine Trees on left.
Hole 3 546 Ft, Par 4
OB- Over fence left, string marks end of fence. Hole 4 is near creek on left.
Hole 4 312 Ft, Par 3
OB- In or over creek, golf green, sand trap. Take bridge and stay left to hole 5.
Hole 5 1236 Ft. Par 6
Mando- left of Large Oak tree.  Miss mando, go to drop zone.
OB- Over fence left, golf green, sand trap (be careful of electric fence). Hole 6 is on other side of green.
Hole 6 278 Ft, Par 3. Hole 7 is on hill on the other side of cart path.
Hole 7 271 Ft, Par 3. Cross golf fairway right to get to hole 8.
Hole 8 702 Ft, Par 4.  Hole 9 is on ball golf hole #6
Hole 9 350 Ft, Par 3. Follow cart path to hole 10.
OB- Golf Green.  Sand trap that basket is located in is IN BOUNDS
----Front 9 par = 33
Hole 10 301 Ft, Par 3.  Hole 11 basket is near 10, tee is 240 ft south.
Hole 11 237 Ft, Par 3. Hole 12 is down to the right of 11's basket.
Hole 12 363 Ft, Par 3. Hole 13 tee is next to 11's tee.
Hole 13 660 Ft, Par 4. Go up hill, follow dirt mound to 14s tee. 14 is elevated basket on mound.
OB- Golf green/s, in or over creek, sand traps.  Sand trap that basket is located in is IN BOUNDS
Hole 14 264, Par 3.  Hole 15 is just south of 14s basket.
Hole 15 545 Ft, par 4. Hole 16 is South of the pond, heading towards clubhouse.
OB- Golf green, pond
Hole 16 Ft, par 4. Hole 17 down in the middle of ball golf hole #9.  Turn back around from 16s basket.
Hole 17 378 Ft, par 3
OB- Creek:  If you go OB from the tee side of the creek, you must go to drop zone.  OB line is marked on tee side with string.  If you go OB from basket side of creek, play it from last spot in bounds.  Bridge is OB. After 17, go left to service road.  18s tee is located on the gravel service road.
Hole 18 Ft, Par 4
OB- Golf green and practice golf green.
----Back 9 par = 31
----Course par = 64
General Rules: In or over creek is OB unless noted, cart paths are in bounds, all golf greens are OB, sand traps are OB unless basket is in sand trap (there are many blind sand traps), no outside alcohol, no 2M Rule, stay on cart path as much as possible, do not drive carts on greens, no horseplay with carts, DURING PRACTICE ROUNDS- YIELD TO BALL GOLFERS, THIS IS THEIR COURSE AND WE ARE GUESTS. Tomorrow is going to be awesome.  Lets show Ottawa and Pine Hills what disc golf is about.  The better things go tomorrow, the better the chances are we can do more events in the future.

this should be the kind of course you play for the USDGC spot every year (sorry i mean every other year)  . its difficult and has lots of OB. thats a good test for whoever wins of their ability to play through that. a high par as well. anyway just an idea if all goes well. have fun guys

I would come to this event everytime it was ran. You have an amazing eye when it comes to designing holes. Today and the GPO 2009 at Eureka the holes were well thought up. 100% A+ is your grade.
