I think Mother Nature fell asleep with the snow faucet on.

Wind is blowing so bad here, the 4-6 inches is about 18 inches in spots around my house, but they say the worst is still to come after dark. Hope I can get out side in the morning.  Everytime my dog needs to go out, I have to shovel a foot of snow away from the back door 1st.

How much you guys got up that way??

we have lightning & thunder right now. they calling it a Thundersnow. it's coming down like rain in a thunderstorm. we probably have 8-10 inches now, with drifts up to 3 ft.

Winds are whippin' around in Rockford still. We have drifts that are about 3' tall around the house. Neighborhood is not gonna be plowed for quite a bit. Snowed in from work so far. Hooooooooooooray.
Heard Chicago was suppose to get 2' of snow... Wonder how tall those drifts are this morning?

I only have about 3 blocks from my house to my office so I opted to head in today rather than work from home. Damen is plowed, but to do that all of the side streets are plowed in and easily a few feet worth of drifting surrounding every car. Pretty crazy, but I like it.

I've got a Discatcher next to the house. Before the 2nd deluge late this morning, you could still see the grass around it; across what passes for my yard, 4-foot drifts.

No, I didn't practice putting, but the Skillshot and some batting-cage netting for driving might finally go up in the attic this weekend.

Looks like Eagle Ridge Park in Oswego got about 20 inches. Some drifts are unreal out there! Most snow that course has seen in it's existence.

The wind blew open the door to the shed sometime Tuesday night.  Wednesday afternoon I walked out to close it and the snow was thigh high.   The Skillshot was full of snow.  I dug out the half dozen Aviars that live in the basket.

I think we had about 18 inches.   But it drifted pretty good at my driveway. It took about 4.5 hours to shovel the entire thing.

Our Peds and Adolescent units have a saying: When the going gets tough, the tough have a sleepover. That's what I did-slept in an empty room and worked until they plowed our subdivision on Thursday. Maddisen shoveled our driveway and shoveled in the back so the dryer vent was clear. I don't know how long it took.

I thought it was funny that some tv media were trying to come up with a new term for thunderstorm just because it was happening during a snow storm. It's still a storm. It's still thunder. It's still a thunderstorm!

I've been hearing them call it thundersnow.  

Kira and I played alternating shot in pretty deep snow today.  It was exhausting.  Alternating shot is a good game for deep snow because the non-thrower can go out and spot.  We did not lose or have to search for any discs, but only because we had the spotter out there for every long throw. 

I noticed from the footprints in the snow that other players had played the same game.  Good game for deep snow.

We also played the Squirrel course without spotting.  No new course records.  I was -8 and Kira was -7 for nine holes, counting everything as par 3.  Squirrel is really a par 2 course, but you can practice running long putts there, and parking short upshots, so we play it when we're out that way.  Jon used to have the course record at -10, but I have it now at -11.
