Felt like it flew by because there were so few incompletions and very few big offensive plays to stop the clock.

Yeah, that seemed like the 'shortest' SB I can remember, time-wise.

It was hard to get into since I really didn't care who won, although I'd prefer anybody vs. the Patriots except Dallas. Interesting last quarter though.

Commercials were largely lame, and I didn't really watch the halftime. What, they gonna get Cher next year?

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

I was amazed at how low the score was given how efficient the quarterbacks played.  Brady made a couple of errors but was generally very good and Manning could have lowered his score at the Fox Valley Ice Bowl as he was in the hula hoop on every throw. I thought the QB's put on a clinic.  The commercials were lame. I usually like the commercials better than the game. This year the game was way more interesting. I had no rooting interest and could watch the last two minutes with my mind rather than my heart racing.  I especially enjoyed halftime...what? you may inquire.  Rather than watch Madonna try to writhe her way back to relevance, we watched the trailer for the upcoming Three Stooges movie that our host  had on his computer.  I will go see that even if its bad.  nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

I think it gets the nod as one of the best super bowl contests. Maddisen even watched the whole game and commented that it was a well played game. Maddisen and I did our typical rip job on the halftime show. I don't really ever enjoy the halftime show but the last one that I thought was ok was the last time the Bears were in it and Prince played.

Had Gronkowski dove and caught that Hail Mary, would that have been the greatest finish in sports history?

What is your vote for most exciting Super Bowl ever?  There have actually been a ton of really exciting finishes in recent memory.  Bills/Giants ending on the missed Norwood FG.  The Titans coming up 1 yard short against the Rams.  The Pats winning on a last second Vinatieri FG against the Rams.  The Pats/Eagles game where McNabb was vomiting on the last drive and they lost by 3.  Giants Patriots Part 1.  Definitely that Steelers/Cardinals game from a few years ago would be near the top.

Personally for me it was the Saints over Colts game in 2010.  My wife and I agreed to put down sizeable wager on the Saints to win straight up at +300 and go on a spring break trip to AZ only if we won.  We were on the edge of our seats right up until that Tracey Porter pick 6 that capped it.  Very exciting.

Titans/Rams.  Making a tackle to preserve a win was outstanding.

Objectively, I agree with Tom. Subjectively (being a long-ago New Orleans resident), I agree with Dan.  ;)

The Bears have the opportunity to go out and address the WR needs. The free agency list is loaded with WR's.
Dwayne Bowe
Vincent Jackson
Marques Colsten
Wes Welker--He'll probably be tagged.
DeSaun Jackson
Stevie Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Brandon Lloyd
Mario Manningham

I think the Chargers either tag V Jax or sign him to an extension.  Same for Colston and obviously Welker.  Dwayne Bowe, Steve Johnson, and Manningham would all interest me as a Bears fan.  I'm not sure how effective Desean Jackson would be for the Bears where he'd be the focus of the defense.  Can he make plays in double coverage?  He seems like more of a pure speed threat and I could see him being a bust for somebody.

Clearly this is a position that the new GM has to address immediately.

I don't think Desean Jackson would be a good fit on the Bears either just because of his toxic attitude. A few games in a row with him not getting the results he prefers and that could make a bad situation worse.

If for whatever reason the Chargers don't want Vincent Jackson back, he'd be my clear #1 target.  That guy has proven he can make plays down the field regardless of the coverage.  He has that knack for timing his leap and coming down with the ball in traffic.  He's the guy Cutler is missing.  I think he could transform the Bears offense.

I would agree Dan - at first I was thinking Brett had listed Brandon Marshall as opposed to Brandon Lloyd, which would also be an awesome fit. Lloyd would be better than on paper for the Bears only because of the history with Cutler though if I recall correctly. Getting to watch Vincent Jackson against Calvin Johnson a few times of year would be an interesting stat matchup.

I thought this article was hilarious. Seems it might have been google translated...perhaps more than once!

Bears have 14 players scheduled to hit at no cost agency this offseason (Bears)

There is usually a tremendous possibility which the Chicago are going to manage their own in the first. As far as everyone knows the Chicago Bears have got a extraordinary offer of bedroom in their income cap to go out and sign the absolutely free agents from other teams. The Chicago Bears have 14 players organized to hit the 100 % free company this offseason also. The massive names for the Chicago Bears this year are Pro Bowl jogging back again Matt Forte, Israel Idonije and Tim Jennings.Caleb Hanie, who is the quarterback belonging to the workforce, started out 4 games to the Bears in 2011 with no expections. Caleb Hanie needed to come in for the reason that back up simply because of an injury to Jay Cutler. A great deal of lovers for the Chicago Bears ended up optimistic that Hanie could do a serviceable project as the starter in the Chicago Bears. Nevertheless, it is unlucky for the Chicago Bears, that's not what occurred. The supporters of the Bears will ideally not search ahead to the Chicago Bears to re-sign Caleb Hanie for your explanation that he turned out last 12 months that he should not ever start off for an NFL team at any time. Probably it was the schemes of Mike Martz that doomed the youthful kid. Yet, he's been while in the technique for two many years so that is not a legitimate excuse. Josh McCown, who's the quarterback with the group, commenced the very last two games in 2011 for Chicago and he looked sturdy. That will happen to be as being a result belonging to the simple fact that anybody could have looked incredibly good adhering to the functionality of Caleb Hanie, but he nonetheless was a great third alternative.Josh McCown appears to have been to the roster for more or less a year, as we all know that he received signed in the 2011 time and he played perfectly in two emergency starts. Josh McCown is going to be a wonderful 3rd quarterback on any depth chart, and just after the catastrophe the Bears knowledgeable last time, they probably hope to carry 3 viable quarterbacks subsequent yr.But nevertheless, there's a big risk the Chicago Bears Joe Montana Jerseyare likely to go out and acquire a back up quarterback in f-r-e-e agency or perhaps the draft. The Chicago Bearshas also advised the media a great deal of instances that the group likes Nathan Enderle like a younger quarterback particularly a lot. Nathan Enderle along with a pick up this off time of year will be the correct back-up quarterback, within the wake of Jay Cutler. Still, Josh McCown is simply not looked at producing the ultimate roster.

The Saints tagged Brees. Looks like Colsten will be on the market.

Unreal.  Not sure what Brees wants, but I heard they offered him the same money that Manning and Brady make per season.  Seems fair to me.  Seems risky for Brees to turn down the guaranteed bigtime $$ and risk getting hurt this season.

Colston would be a nice add for the Bears.  My personal opinion is Cutler would benefit much more from a big target possession receiver like Colston than from a speedy deep threat WR.  Johnny Knox can fill the deep threat role.  Earl Bennet is a functional slot receiver.

Desean Jackson was tagged this week.  I read Bowe is likely to be tagged as well.  Vincent Jackson would still be my #1 target as Bears GM if he ends up a free agent, followed by Colston.  If we end up signing 64 year old Hines freaking Ward instead of those other guys, I'm giving up on this new Bears GM immediately.

Take Colston off the list.  Back with the Saints.  V Jax is really looking like the only bigtime WR out there now.  Free agency starts today, should be interesting.
