This is a shout out to Steve Jacobs, Michael Baranowski and Spencer Wilkin:

If you don't have a partner for Mixed Doubles and you would like to play the Mixed Doubles, Diana is looking for a partner.  The Mixed Doubles is on the Saturday before the before the tournament so you'd have to plan on being there that early.  I think Diana will pay your entry fee.

I didn't make the Finals cut for the Diana Brakel MD partner sweepstakes?  Damn.

How about some of these Pros that are upset about being shutout of Worlds?  They whine endlessly that there isn't enough money in disc golf and the fields are too small and all these Advanced players should have to play Pro instead of receiving big prizes in the Am divisions.  Then when this actually happens they are pissed off because they were too lazy to register within the 2 month window they were provided and they expect a special exemption (like they are Tiger Woods or somebody special) to allow them into the tournament over a lesser rated player who eagerly signed up for the tournament the second a spot became available.  I guess its just never good enough!

I guess every TD for big events should be given a list of the top 50 Pros and their phone numbers.  They should have to call them each individually to make sure all of their needs are taken care of prior to the event.  Its only common courtesy.

This comes as no surprise. Anyone that didn't think this event would sell out was a fool. The wave of whning started with the MA1 divsion flling then it went to some of the age protected. There have been multiple discussions across all the divsions of pissed off people not getting in. It's been some enjoyable reading.

WOW! That wait list is HUGE!!

I wonder if a person that has accepted their invitation and sent in their registration could sell their seat to Worlds? Or could they give it away when they sell their accomodations? Just curious...

Anthon posting on Facebook that he offered $1000 to get in the tournament, but was shut down.  I'm not sure how you can feel sorry for the guy when he couldn't take a few minutes to sign up for the damn tournament when he had 2 months to do so.  I wish they could get him in since he's such a talented player, but I'm not down with him and others trying to send some of the Ams who are registered in Open on some sort of guilt trip for taking up Josh Anthon's spot.  They deserve to go have a great time.  They probably already reserved hotels, put up the $215 entry, and scheduled time off from work.  But they are supposed to step aside now?

Perhaps the PDGA should set aside 4 spots until July 1 for players holding a Touring Card who didn't get registered in time.  But then if they do that, you know there'd even more of these guys that would be lazy about registering in time, assuming their spot would be guaranteed because of the reserved spots.  I'm not sure what the solution would be to make sure all these guys get registered.  Its already an invitational tournament.  I just wish the invited players would sign the hell up.

My brother told me I was taking up a spot when I played at lemon lake, They took my money so I felt I deserved to play .  I played like the player I am.  Chucker .but I was not the open master player that delayed the start of gold rounds both days.  that was Murphy and reese.

Any Worlds attendees interested in a competitive practice round on Monday (7/16) morning?  Elon-Angry Beaver, Hornet's Nest, or even Winget works for me.  Play for tags, side bets, whatever.

Those courses won't for me really, but would enjoy getting a round in Tyler!

My practice schedule is looking like Renny and Hornets Nest on Saturday, Nevin Sunday and Bradford Monday. Nevin and Bradford may get switched around, but that's the general look.

Pre-registration at 1,092, wait list down to about 112.  This old wait list won't be used after Saturday night, instead the PDGA will start a "confirmed on-site" wait list for people who show up at player check-in.

Looks like almost 100 people made it in off the original wait list.

Climo moved from Open to Masters.

Any word on when the pool assignments will be posted?  It seems like I recall seeing this information during the week leading up to the tournament in past years.  Not that its urgent I know now, but it would be nice to know when your playing the 1st two days.

Right now I'm planning on hitting Hornets Nest Sunday night, then Kilborne and Robert Smith on Monday morning.

Just printed off the course maps.  I'm going to get destroyed.  If I can finish in the top 150 I'll consider it a success.

And good luck to all the Illinois players out there next week!  We've got several really good players attending both the Pro and Am side, so hopefully we have a good collective showing.
