All raffle proceeds go towards the Series Payout and A-Tier in September and the Summer Frenzy B Tier. We will have quite a few items to raffle!

Do you know how to legally run a raffle in Illinois?

I do, don't let them catch you. That law is enforced about as much as spitting on the sidewalk. Without raffles there would be less concrete tees in this world. Eagle Ridge Park included.

Yes, its the reason we don't run raffles at the IOS. The penalty for getting caught is not worth the risk. The penalty for spitting on the sidewalk is much less severe.

In Illinois you need a license for the raffle and a legally charitable association that has been in business for 5 years to be getting the proceeds.

What we need in Illinois is a charitable corporation to be formed whose sole purpose is to promote health and recreation through disc golf. Then that corp could funnel the proceeds to the disc golf related projects such as concrete tees or large tournaments that the raffles were intended for.

I guess some people don't like disc golf being associated with criminal activity, and other people are libertarian about the crimes they enjoy participating in.   >:D

Great Job Nate, great series your putting together!!

A couple of years ago the Discontinuum Board of Directors had a discussion about the explosion of disc golf tournament flyers being posted on the forum and we all thought it was great to have a forum that people could use to find tournaments and leagues to go to. We also discussed what was the appropriate action to take when people posted about tournaments that were pdga sanctioned but their were questions about how it would be or was run. In the openness of the way Discontinuum was run, it was agreed that questions about tournaments and how they are run would always be welcome. We also agreed that we would let these posts be even if we did not agree with how they were run.

Anyone that posts about their tournaments on this forum should be prepared to answer questions about them. I, as a moderator on this forum, will not tolerate any hateful posts made against an individual or club or tournament, etc. but will always allow people to ask questions. Questions and discussion are good.

Doug, your repeated posts about who you think should and should not be allowed to reply on a thread are not necessary as everyone is allowed to post in this forum as long as the posts are not hateful.

I did not say they were hateful. I said that they were unnecessary as we welcome everyone to participate on this forum. If anyone would continue to try to hamper the discussion in this forum it could be considered more than unnecessary.
