So back in June at a Skyline Series event, Terry Miller announced that Red Fox would be undergoing a change. He said the course would be redesigned complete with concrete pro and am tee boxes making it a solid 27 hole course (actually not sure if the holes would be 19-27 or remain Red Fox)

I haven't been up there in about a month but I have been hearing people say they are starting to pour in the pads?  Any confirmation on the situation up there?  I thought it odd that nothing has come across on here if that were the case.

Thanks.

I've heard the same but haven't seen it with my own eyes.

I was out there yesterday. The new tee pad locations are framed out, and most pin locations are marked.

It was raining so I didn't check out all the holes. From what I saw it's an upgrade for sure. The road OB may come into play on hole one. Tee on the big sled hill, but not all the way up the hill. The OG red fox is not worth playing, so i'm excited for the redesign.  ;D

I was able to walk the Red Fox today. Most of the new tee pads are completed. I did not see stakes marking the pins but you could get a decent idea of flow and possibilities. It's definitely going to be an upgrade to what is there now. All 9 will be par 3's. This side will still be the weakest of the 3 nines which is a disappointment to me. There is a lot of potential on that side. I'll post a picture of tee locations on the facebook page.

I talked to Terry and there are plans for long tees on the Red Fox.

I got out to the Red Fox today.

Most of the original course has been redesigned. Original hole 1 is still hole 1 and original hole 6 is now hole 7. The other 7 holes are drastically different. The concrete tees are nice. This is a Red to White level course from the concrete tees.

The long tees add quite a bit of difficulty. They laid 4-6 inches of wood chips on the ground and they are really unplayable. The long tees that had grass behind they are pretty fun to throw. There are quite a few of the long tees that are tucked into the woods. That is hole 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 9. They are very very difficult to throw due to the wood chips and lack of even ground around them.

Overall the course is much better but it doesn't come close to matching the front 9 of the Gray Fox.

Played all the longs today, very nice!

After playing the Grey course Damon and I played the new and improved red one yesterday.  It was really a warm down after a round on the Grey course. We didn't want to play again as rain was anticipated before we would have been able to finish another 18 on the Grey.  My back has been an issue lately so I nixed the wood chips. I wanted solid footing and played the shorts from the concrete. The red is much improved. It went from a deuce or die shooting gallery to a typical 70's style park course. Its short but each hole has a purpose and a problem. Good players are still looking to deuce each hole but its no longer a course where even a player of my caliber can go -5 or better. I can'tt imagine ever going to Silver Lake for the purpose of playing the reds but can now see the reds as an additional 9 holes and can see a more realistic 27 hole arrangement for a large turnout event.  The longs looked even more interesting but I was in no mood or physical condition to screw around with the wood chips.  Yesteray's wind made the red course almost as challenging as the grey. Most of the grey is not that much more difficult in high wind as its pretty wooded.. The red becomes a different course in high wind as its much more  open. I had some fun putting with my Pig.

I've played it a few times now.  It's a great warm up to the other side of the park.  I've only been playing it with a handful of wizards and it's actually been a nice teaching aid since each hole requires a different line.

Big time improvement over the previous layout and it's really great to see the continued desire to make that park better and better.

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

They had doubles there on Sunday and from what I hear there was still random snow coverage. Greens are fast. It's either frozen ground or frozen snow. Hole 5 green on Grey Fox is surrounded by ice. It should be okay while it stays frozen, but will probably be a mess when it thaws.
