Have you ever wanted to play Winthrop Gold or at least a similarly set up course but don't want to travel all the way to SC? Here's your chance. We've re-designed Mokena's 27 hole course into 18 holes, added 2 temporary holes and laid out over 6800 feet of rope. The result, a 20 hole, 8792 foot, par 69 challenge. In addition, we are going to determine who will represent IL in this year's USDGC Performance Flight.
What: Ropes at the Oaks (PDGA C-Tier)
Where: The Oaks, Mokena, IL
When: Saturday, June 20th, 2015
Eagle/Ace Fund: $5 (Optional) *Ace Fund pays out for all aces plus any 2s on 1,3,4,8,12,16,or 18
50/50 CTP: $5 (Optional) * 50% of the CTP fund will go towards the USDGC spot winner's entry and travel expenses.
Registration: 7:30 - 8:30
Players Meeting: 8:45
First Round Tee Time: 9:00
2 Rounds, 20 Hole USDGC Style Rope Course (Course Booklet)
Field limited to 100 players.
Pre-registration options include online registration or in person at J-Town Handicap Singles League.

Illinois Open Series / Re: IOS #69 - The Oswego Open ...
Last post by pickax - June 01, 2015, 06:49:16 PMWhat a weekend! Nothing like having ugly March weather the weekend after Memorial Day. I think we have finally warmed up and dried out. It was impressive to have 70+ players playing in the ugly conditions on Saturday and then filling the course with 105 on Sunday.
I want to extend thanks to Randy Moore Sr, the Oswegoland Park District and the rest of the Fox Valley Metro Disc Golf Club (Abel, Nikki, Rob, Matt, Chris, Connie, Frank, Tim, Chris, Scott, and John...sorry if I missed anyone) who helped get the course looking sharp. Some of these weren't even playing in the event, but put their back into it. Janet and Brad thanks for coming out early to help get setup. That makes a big difference. I also appreciate all of our regulars who are more than willing to lend a hand putting baskets out, bringing them in, running down CTPs, etc. You all make it so much easier to pull off these events.
Thanks also to Scott Pitner and Paper Or Plastic Sports for bringing out such a huge selection to provide prizes for the IOS events. We couldn't do it without them.
I especially want to thank my wife and daughters who braved these ugly conditions to make the Oswego Open run the way it does. It is great to have them not only allow me to do this, but also actively make it happen.
Results have been posted, TD report sent to the PDGA, fees paid, hole by hole scores posted, and series points are up (thanks Tyler Williams).
If you have any feedback on the event, please drop me a line. I appreciate when people notice things and let me know so I can try to improve even more for next year.
IOS #70 Sinnissippi Open (B-Tier) is at the end of June and registration is open. Need to go finish up the rest of this event and start getting ready for that one. Hope to see many of you there!
