It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

Tied at the end of Reg. Barry makes a 2 on last then prayers are answered when Tim Gill tosses a five. Tied up...

This Format needs a cut badly...Over 95 Players on last day and that was just the pro men..5 or 6 over par should play last day and the rest should call it a weekend.

How does this format help Disc Golf ?

Also does anyone know what the Minimum length (ft) 9 Hole disc course must be for PDGA Cert. ?

That format probably helps disc golf because people like to play lots of holes when they play a tournament. The higher the tier, the more holes they want to play. Some people relate the number of holes vs. the entry fee as a value. I don't see how playing more holes could hurt disc golf and I don't see how a cut helps disc golf.

I don't think the PDGA has a minimum length for courses. Course certified for what?

i think courses should be certified for degrees of mental anguish . . . .

Maybe I will restate this question...

...are there recommended distance standards set by the PDGA for 9/18 ?

also it was great to see Discontinnum get exposure at CLC and the Local Newspapers.

From Course Development on pdga.com Click on that for all the information that the PDGA provides for course development.
LENGTH:
All courses should have at least one configuration for beginners and casual recreational players that averages no more than 250 feet per hole (75 meters). This is a maximum of 4500 ft (1350m) for an 18-hole course or 2250 feet (675m) for a 9-holer. The preferred length range is 3600-4300 feet (1080-1290m) for the shortest setup on an 18-hole course. This is an average length of 200-240 feet per hole (60-73m). No hole should be shorter than 120 feet (35m) but 150 feet (45m) is the "normal" low end limit.

Longer configurations are achieved by installing alternate tees or target positions on several holes. Typical 18-hole course setups for advanced players range from 4500-6000 feet (1350-1800m). Course setups longer than 6000 feet (1800m) are primarily for expert players and tournament play. There is no maximum length allowed for a hole. The longest holes in the world are about 1000 feet (305m).
